57 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I would have given them a rating less than 1, but that was the lowest that was available.
The air conditioning was out in the hotel and the rooms were 80 + degrees F, the hotel management and staff said "It could be worse, we did not have any electricity at all on Saturday!".
We were providing training for employees in one of the board rooms. We continually asked for help in cooling the room and got no assistance at all. When we tried to open the emergency exit we found that it would not open. The hotel maintenance employees worked most of the afternoon trying to get the lock off and open the door. For the rest of the week we had to keep the emergency exit door open to try and keep the room below 80 degrees F. This caused a problem with noise from the outside.
On the second day the hotel interrupted our presentation and tried to take the projector that we were using. I asked them if they could wait until break and they said that they did not want to wait. They wanted to change out projectors for some reason. We made them wait the 20 minutes until the break.
We only had two positive experiences at the hotel, the desk clerk who signed us in, unfortunately he only works one day a week, and the catering staff. We are extremely disappointed in the situation, and in the Holiday Inn Management's lack of concern and response. We will not have any further presentations here, and will not stay here in the future. We were here for a full week and feel that Holiday Inn management could have done more to mitigate the problems that we had.
