Holiday Inn Columbus City Center Hotel

The outside of the hotel looked like a slum. Although it was under construction, it had a very bad appearance and no instructions on how to enter the parking lot as the main drive was closed. We had to go all the way around the block to try and find the entrance. It was very unsatisfactory.

This hotel was the worst experience we'd had in a long time. We stayed there in March with a group and some people in our group walked in and walked right back out. Some rooms AC didn't work, the hallways were damp and dirty. The front desk promised a handful of our most problematic rooms to be "comped" but it never happened. Don't expect anyone to care or call you back they just want you to go away and be happy after stealing your money!

Where do I begin? We are definitely not picky travelers, but this hotel took us to our limits.

First, upon entering the hotel, we were greeted with a long line and a forty minute wait to simply check into our room. Once inside the room, there were no towels and the bed was lacking a blanket, of all things! The room was dark, there were stains everywhere (especially in the hallways), and it looked like one of the lamp shades may have caught fire at one time.

Our view consisted of garbage that was thrown on the roof. The next morning we woke to a church service across our hall that was extremely loud. To top it off, we each had to take a shower without hot water.

When checking out, we discovered that we were not the only ones who had issues with the hotel. When one man complained about the cold showers, the attendant said, "That seems to always happen when we have a full house." Run, don't walk away from this hotel. Spend your money wisely, and go anywhere else!

It was a satisfactory stay.

They gave us the wrong room at check in. The keys did not work. I disliked the rude front desk staff. The room was not cleaned for three days. The manager gave wrong info.
