We Love Orange Lake! Nothing is perfect, but for 99% of the time it will please even the most critical person. There are clean pools for all ages, great food at River Island, great golf (90 holes) for every ability, and we wait for their phone...
My wife and own timeshares around the country but every since we bought into Orange Lake Country Club and Resort we had nothing but problems with them.
In 2005, the loss our maintenance payment but found it 8-months later after I filed a complain

Good
I have been an owner at Orange Lake for a number of years. This resort has a number of amenities that make it highly desireable. However, it does have its drawbacks, as well.
In the years that I have been vacationing here, I have seen...
My husband & I bought our first week of timeshare here at OLCC back in 1999. It started out to be a great place to go for vacation, so in 2001, we bought another week. Boy, were we suckers!!!!

Excellent
This is a great family resort. This has been by second time visiting the resort and we loved loved. We stayed in the West Village which are the older units but they have all been renovated. The East and NOrth Village units are much bigger and nicer. ...
Just returned Oct. 12th. Has gotten much better over the years and always happy to return... with or without the kids. People need to remember this is Florida, so crouds can always be hit or miss, which is why we always go in the off season. I didn'
North Village Room 3711 infested with bed bugs. My family and I noticed them when we finally decided to call in the night around 11:30. The place was hopping with them.
The night time managers came by, verified our complaint and gave us a new roo

my family and i were only going to stay for 2 days then head to a beach for the rest of our vacation but decided to stay as we had friends coming to orlando studios. I called the reservation # on the access key and was told I couldnt stay in that room but was reserved another. When I returned to my room later that evening I called front desk and was assured that I had to check out then back in. We packed all our stuff up and went to check out and found out that I didnt even have a reservation for the remainder 5 days but they took care of that and even kept me in the same room for which I was assured 2 X that I couldnt do! I told the clerk and manager that my room didnt need cleaned and they said it wouldnt. We were all dressed for lazy river and I put our food and some other things in the room but not luggage and saw a change of service outside our door and told the attendant that our room didnt need made and they said I would have to call housekeeping. I called housekeeping several times and got no one and finally left a message at 12:00 that my room didnt need cleaned as I was staying. Got back to room at around 3:30 and access keys didnt work and I feared the worst. Went to front desk and spoke to the manager who took care of me and I asked him to check to see if the room was cleaned. He said it wasnt. Upon entering my room it had been cleaned and all our food and other things (disney items, etc.) were gone. I called front desk and was told someone would call me back and I went there myself and was told SORRY and that I had to repurchase all the items and bring them the receipt. I had the receipts and didnt understand why I had to repurchase them and he told me policy. Upon returning with another receipt from publix but not disney (because I couldnt repurchase disney items unless they were going to pay my way in and parking) I hadto explain everything again to another manager (shift change) and then was taken to an office and had to explain again!!!! I was told they didnt know why they made me repurchase the items since I had the receipt but was going to be reimbursed at check out. I was reimbursed at checkout but not totally. I had spent over $2000.00 to stay for a week and all they would repeatedly say was sorry! I was never offered a voucher or any compensation for the day I spent running around so I could get reimbursed. But, if you take their tour you get compenstated. I called the hotel after I got home and was assured that I would be contacted and am still WAITING!!!!! So, beware of Orange Lake!!

We were smooth talked into buying this deal and shown all kinds of resale data about how the timeshare retains its value etc. The first time we used it, we met a couple at the pool who said if we had said no, the salesman would have offered the same deal for 1/2 the price. we paid 16,000 for our timeshare and our maintenance went up from under 300 to 700. in four years!
Ask them to help you sell it??? I told them they could keep my money and have it back for free and they wouldn't do it. Why would they?? I still owe 10,000 after 5 years and they get 700.00 a year from me. I can never get a decent deal on trading through RCI because they claim I need to book a year in advance, so whenever I've traded, we got a 1 or two bedroom. I regret the day I ever walked into Orange Lakes Country Club. I would have done a lot better staying at the Holiday Inn family Suites at lake Buena Vista for the 1 week a year we get away. Anyone want to buy one???

I have been an owner for about 13 years. I said then, and now, that OLCC has the potential to be first class, but they routinely and consistently resort to underhanded, cheap and second-class methods for everything they do. It takes more that showing pictures of what a great place can be; it takes committed staff, with people of integrity, which has always been a problem here. I regret the day I became involved with Orange Lake. I have been trying desperately to sell my unit. I paid over $13k and am looking to sell it for $2500. That's it. It's not worth it to be tied in to a relationship with unexperienced, unprofessional, cheap and ill-informed staff. Too bad. You could have had it all.
