any positive impression i had when i walked in to their updated and remodeled lobby was taken away during my two-night night stay when i accidentally left my wedding ring on the desk in my room and returned that night to find it missing. stolen, actually.
the night security officer took a report and i've been told that i would hear from the hotel's insurance company...but that was 5/21/08.
the wedding ring was approx $2000-2500. it was the only thing on the desk when i left the room.
furthermore, the housekeeper did something that hasn't been done to my belongings before...she moved my toothbrush out of the styrofoam cup that i had placed it. she threw the cup away and left the toothbrush on the sink. who touches a guest's toothbrush???
i'd recommend that you not stay at holiday inn express at birmingham airport. despite their commercials, i don't feel smarter today for staying there.

After traveling all day my daughter and I made arrangements to stay here overnight before traveling in separate directions the next day. When we went for our cars mine had been broken into along with 5 other guests. The police came and did a report and the Security personnel took a copy of my drivers license. He did bring me towels to put in the seat so I would not sit in glass and he did repeat that they were sorry. The ad states 24 hours security. I did call the hotel 2 days later to find out that Security arrives at 5 p.m. and leaves at 6 a.m. Where were they when 6 cars were being broken in to? I also was informed that they have cameras that they were looking at. I am frustrated because now I have to take time to get a broken window fixed and then get some body work done to the car. Never mind that I had to pay a deductible to get it fixed!

After a 23+ hour train trip from Washington, and missing our flight to Nashville, we were forced to find a hotel for the night. The ticket agent recommended this place. What a mistake. The room rate we were told at the check in desk, jumped from the $125 qouted to $145 by the morning. We asked if there were any restaurants locally, and we were told 5 miles. We were forced to eat in the hotel restaurant at that point. I give this place a C- for the food. A C- fro the stay.. We had a lousy nights sleep, because of the noise from the traffic, and when we left in the morning, we saw a Mexican restaurant right across the street from the entrance STRANGE they didn't tll us that!!
The only plesant person we came acorss there was the courtesy van driver. A great guy.

Stayed here for a race wekend. The staff was extraordinarily friendly! There were greetings and smiles from every staff member I saw. The room was excellent, very clean. Fresh, clean sheets on the bed. The room was also well equiped and nicely...

This Hotel has recently been renovated. The Rooms are Great, and the common areas are very nice.
The Room I stayed in was a King Room. It had a King sized bed, a desk and Office Chair, free high speed internet, Coffee maker, Microwave, and Mini Fridge. The bed was extremely comfortable, and there was an easy chair and ottoman.
The room even had an iron and ironing board.
The bathroom was big and had everything you would need.
Although the Hotel was located right off I-20, the noise was not a factor.
Downstairs in the lobby, there was a small "store" beside the front desk. Just beyond the front desk was a Sports Bar, the Resturant, a Coffee Bar, an ATM, and even a Business Center.
Overall, this was a nice hotel, with good staff, and a great location.

Fantastic experience...my husband and i stopped here on our way to our honeymoon. We didn't stay long (checked in at 11:30 pm and out at 8:30 the next morning) but did not experience any problems. It did take a while for us to check in because...

It is under renovation. The hallways were dark and the ceilings were exposed to wiring and ductwork. Some of the outlets in the room would not hold a plug securely. The iron would not heat up. I had to switch it to another outlet. The room was clean and comfortable.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Birmingham-Airport.
I might recommend it to friends.

First of all, the maid stole my cell phone. We have proof from the call logs, but of course, "We didn't see your phone, sir", was the lie they told us. There is renovation dust and rubble everywhere, nice new carpet in the rooms but they left the icky old tubs, so what's the use? The staff could care less about you. They were slow, unemotional, uneducated, when does-my-shift-end-kind-of-people. The location feels like one filled with riff-raff.
