WE stayed at this hotel during a cross country trip. It was one bad choice. This hotel was undergoing major remodel and we stayed in the old part of the hotel. I mean OLD, OLD and UGLY.
When we arrived close to midnight, there were food trays from that morning sitting outside the doors, including our room. (It had a food tray from some other guest, GROSS)
The next morning when we checked out, the food tray was still there. One unsafe place.
All back doors stayed wide open during the night. SCARY.

Got this room over the internet thought Holiday INN good buy. Boy was I wrong... The room had a smell to it not sure what it was. The beds were well used up. Thin towels and sheets if they were changed still remains in question. I will never stay...

Once upon a time, this was a beautiful hotel. I remember it from my childhood. They are remodeling, but it's going to take some time. In the mean time, they are charging way too much for a room right now. Maybe some day soon. The staff is really...

Service was good, pool and game area was nice and restaurant was good. The hotel smelled like mold as soon as you walked into the hallways. The first room we had, the light switch didn't work as you entered the room, the door lock didn't work...

Good: The A/C worked.
Bad: Reserved rooms were issued to other guests even though we reserved 3 rooms 2 weeks in advance. After an 8 hour car drive, the last thing you want to do is wait another 30 minutes for incompetent people to figure things out. They gave us another set of rooms, but then after the 1st night, our cards would not work, apparently the same "professional staff" only programed the rooms for 1 night. 1 of the rooms smelled bad, all the sheets smelled worse, and the pillows also smelled bad.
Ugly: Sheets had some stains on them, after you'd wash your hands, and attempt to dry them with your towel, your hands would get a sticky residue on them (I'm almost willing to blame this on the Amarillo Water though, but considering the experience we had, who's to say?)
Unless you get an absolute deal for this hotel, I would not recommend staying. I paid a real good rate, but the service and the hotel in general made me think I got exactly what I paid for in the end.

There were no menus for the restaurant on a Friday night and the breakfast buffet was empty when I got there one hour after opening and there was no silverware, water or coffee. The buffet was resupplied after awhile.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Amarillo-I-40.
I might recommend it to friends.

When we got there we did not get any rooms we had booked and the rooms were not very clean and up to date. The game room had most of the games out of order.
I am not likely
to return to the Holiday Inn Amarillo-I-40.
I would not recommend it to friends.
