Excellent
This hotel is adorable! I walked in and was greeted by a friendly staff that was the personification of "the west!" The big open lobby has this tile floor and I could have sworn I could still hear ragtime piano music bouncing off of it. The room was ...
The Plains is a "historic" hotel. That comes with both good and bad. The good was clearly the location and proximity to other historic structures and points of interest. In addition, some modern conveniences were available (spa, coffee bar, etc.) ...

The Plains Hotel is an historic property, upgraded to a fairly current place to stay. Not everything is up to a the modern style level, but rather it is aimed at a strong Western, pioneer theme. The onsite restaurant is top notch, if a bit expensive. However, for breakfast it was perfect.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Historic Plains Hotel.
I might recommend it to friends.
This classic hotel in Downtown Cheyenne is definatly a place to visit if coming through Cheyenne. The restaurant is really nice, however to modern for a lovely old hotel. Most of the rooms are a bit on the small side, but still quite cozy. Also has...

I was visiting family a week prior to Frontier Days and wanted a hotel in a convenient downtown location with a restaurant and a bar. I ended up with the bed & breakfast package and was pleased with the spacious room, as my nieces stayed with me, and the breakfasts were great.
Our room overlooked the Cheyenne Depot Plaza where we spotted the Snake River Pub & Grill. We walked over and enjoyed a cold brew on their patio and listened for hours to the great band that appears there Friday evenings during the summer.
The Albany Restaurant is also nearby. The room was a little noisy, but Im a sound sleeper & didnt mind that. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable, the air worked well, and we all had a great time. Parking is at a distance, but the hotel shuttle was courteous & efficient.
The hotel is like a gracious, genteel old lady and I absolutely loved her. If ever I revisit Cheyenne, Ill definitely stay there again!
