Hilton Washington Hotel

I stayed at the hotel last year. Two months after my stay, Hilton charged me another several hundred dollars (which was a duplicate charge - exact amount which has already been charged to my original billing) for food and beverages. I have disputed this with my credit card company for months without resolution. I called the hotel finance dept over 5 times, still no resolution has been made.

First time i called the finance dept, instead of checking to the original billing, the finance staff simply told me "we have to charge you". I got furious because that was a flawed charge in the first place and no one made the attempt to even check, needless to say, clear the matter.

I called the finance dept again, this time it was another person. He got all my details and told me he'd check on this and got back to me. Again, no response.

I then sent several msgs on Hilton customer support website. I got email back saying someone have contacted me. I replied saying NO ONE ever has contacted me or followed up on this. Still now, no response.

I have to say their service is the worst i have ever encountered, even worst than a motel, and no matter wot, i will not stay at Hilton again.

I have stayed here for a week long conference every year, for the past 15 years. The only thing that has been renovated is the carpet in the lobby. The staff is extremely unprofessional and not helpful. I had my usual two bedroom suite reserved (and had the reservation print out with me). When I went to check in, they said that the reservation had been misplaced and a suite would not be available until the next day. No appology, no room comp, nothing. Not even free parking or a cocktail. The rooms are musty smelling as they don't have smoking/nonsmoking distinction for suites.

I would not stay here, if not for the conference. Sofitel across the street is much better!

Check in was much too slow. There was no express line for Hilton Honors members. The bathroom toilet had trouble flushing properly.

The hotel restaurant is expensive for breakfast and there is little alternative outside in walking distance, other than one cafeteria style spot a couple of blocks away. However, many other excellent restaurants are in walking distance as well as the harbor. The hotel location was very good as was the knowledge and the friendliness of the staff.

This hotel made me feel respected: When I inquired about safe storage for valuables, I was directed to a private room off the lobby with safe deposit boxes. The staff was very respectful of my privacy and need to store my valuables with them.
