I have come to expect a great deal from the hospitality industry. When I choose where I will stay for a business trip I base my lodging upon what a hotel can offer me. I usually spend a lot of time t the hotel
I did not get to pick this one. I was at a conference being held at this resort. It is a beautiful facility with lush landscaping and lots of space. That is about all that they have.
Pros: Nice rooms, "bay beach" front, great pool and hot tub.
Cons: Terrible guest services, lack of an attention to details, Rude and poorly trained staff.
There were three distinct instances while I was staying there that justify my rating. First, I was forced to wait over two hours to get my room. I did not arrive early the room was simply not ready. Second, when I finally checked in I asked the young woman where I could smoke cigars. Instead of suggesting an out of the way nook on the premises (which I would have been happy with), she began to loudly describe her disgust at my recreational habit. I am used to being a social pariah for my cigar smoking, but not from someone at a resort. Finally The housekeeping staff could not have my room cleaned by 4:30 pm.
There were other problems as well. I found a large nail on the dark carpet in my room.. The ice machine did not work. And there was the bad in room coffee.
With a rack rate of $389 USD per night I expected to get so much more.
Do not waist your money or your time at this so called resort.
