Hilton San Diego Airport Hotel

Requested Non-smoking room. Room they gave us smelled like a carton of cigarettes was just smoked. When we complained about it, the front desk offered us a can of Lysol Spray.

We threatened to leave, and they moved us to another room.

This room was a utility closet, with a bed. It was sandwiched between the elevators and the hotels massive Air conditioning units. The view from our balcony was the rear of the air conditioning units, the facade wall to block the view of the air conditioning units from the parking lots, and a rooftop covered in cigarette butts and trash.

All night long, we put up with the sound of the elevators and the constant rumbling of the A/C units, which sounded like a Semi Truck idling through the room.

We complained, and Hilton's apology to us, was to refund the $26.00 parking fee they charged us.

Avoid this hotel !!!!!

They do not care about their guests.

This was probably one of the worst experiences I have had at a hotel in all of my 50 years.

After insisting, they moved us to another room . They put us in a room that was a utility closet converted to a room.

It was between the elevators and the hotels massive air conditioning units. the view from the balconey was the rear of the A/C units and a wall to hide the A/C units from the parking lot. There was no place to sit, and you could barley walk around the bed.

Due to a company function, we had to stay there 2 nights, but never again.

The hotel is conveniently located near the airport on Harbor Island with a nice view of the city and water. The hotel is a basic Hilton hotel. It has comfortable room with basic amenities. Despite the proximity to the airport, the rooms were very quiet. It would have been nice if the hotel provided complimentary wi-fi internet connection in the public areas. The parking fee seemed unnecessary since the parking lot was less than half full.

This was good for our purpose as we were leaving on a cruise the next day and the hotel was within walking distance of the port. It was a reward stay so it had no current cost to us. The continental breakfast was good. The proximity to the train crossing meant occasional crossing noise but it soon lost its ability to gain one's attention.

It was an adequate standard Hilton hotel. The room had a nice desk and all the other amenities as one would expect.

This hotel made me feel welcome: A personal issue was solved nicely.
