member icon Simple Request....Refusal from Lousy CS

29 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

My fiancee and I booked our room for the Hilton online. Apparently, once you do this, the room is SET IN STONE! I knew this from the fine print, but I had no idea how uncooperative their customer service would be. We had a Mardi Gras ball to attend on which I thought was Jan. 26th, but it turned out that it was actually on the 25th. We called the hotel to see if they wouldn't mind just CHANGING the date and just MOVING the hotel room to the 25th. Even though they had PLENTY of rooms available, the Hilton REFUSED to move the room. They said all they could do was give us ANOTHER room for the 25th. By doing this, we would be out over 400 dollars. We even offered to pay the difference in room price because it was $207 for the room we paid for, but $229 for the room they had for Friday. They still REFUSED to help us out. Consequently, we had to cancel the tux rental, which we lost money on and had to stay in the room on the 26th only because we paid for it. It's very disappointing that a highly regarded hotel like the Hilton could be so insensitive and have such lousy customer service. It's not that they COULDN'T help us, it's that they WOULDN'T help us. On top of everything, the hotel CHARGES for you to use their internet service. Even the motel 6 has free internet for goodness sake!!!! So please, beware of the fact that your money could be wasted if you stay here!

The hotel meets many needs, but my husband contracted Legionnaire's Disease when staying there. He fits the profile for LD - diabetic, over 60, compromised immune system. Therefore the moisture in the HVAC system after the hotel reopened after Katrina apparently played host to enough bacteria or fungi to affect his sensitive body. I'm a healthy 67 year old woman and was not affected. It could well be that most of post-flood New Orleans is a threat to anyone whose immune system is compromised.

The Riverwalk Marketplace is right at the hotel"s doorstep, along with Harrah"s Casino, the National D Day Museum, and Aquarium of the Americas. A myriad of dining, shopping and entertainment options are all within walking distance. Hotel Features. Dining options at the hotel include lunch and dinner served at Kabby"s On the River Restaurant, a sports bar, cigar bar and Le Croissant, a casual caf? that trolley cars pass to and from the area"s attractions. The hotel offers over 130,000 square feet of meeting facilities, a business center, event catering and wireless Internet access for a fee. Two outdoor heated pools, massage treatments, sports courts, health club and access to the new high rise rooftop are available. Health club amenities include an aerobic dance studio, personal training, sauna, steam room and tanning bed. The hotel provides childcare services for a fee. Guestrooms. The guestrooms located in the main high rise building are highlighted by traditional d?cor featuring rich wood armoires and furnishings, floor to ceiling windows and upgraded lighting. Amenities include cable television, high speed Internet access, coffeemakers, complimentary designer toiletries and panoramic views of the city. Refrigerators and turn down service are available upon request. Expert Tip. Guests who book the Executive Room at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside are treated to exclusive check in on the 29th floor, complimentary breakfast, honor bar and hor d"oeuvres in the evenings.

I really enjoy this hotel and quality up to par service.

but wireless Internet access for a fee - is just too price

outdoor heated pool - need good cleaning, I did not risk to use it

complimentary breakfast - give me a break, in starving Poland you wil get more breakfast

Health club amenities include an really good aerobic dance studio, excellent personal training, but sauna, steam room need cleaning and excellent tanning bed, tanning service

hotel provides childcare services for a fee - but my child did not like it (used only once and after ended up getting private babysitter)

In cigar bar - could not get davidoff, but got offer under the table for Cibans, got cubans but suspect it was dominican.
