32 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for business
This week, I booked a room for Celebrity Chef Jon Ashton (www.Jonashton.com) at the Hilton in Nashville. He left the room at for lunch and when he returned later that day, his laptop had been stolen from his room. Somebody had accessed the room using a key card, made by the Front Desk.
The Manager on Duty researched what time the room was opened via keycard and all Jon was told was that it occurred at 1.20 pm. Jon was very disappointed by the lack of urgency he and the rest of the staff displayed, and worse, lack of concern. Conrad Hilton, the founder who prided himself in customer service excellence would have been aghast at his staff's behaviour. A Hilton Honors member and a fan of the hotel chain for many years, Jon could not believe that the incident was not taken more seriously.
I believe it was an inside job committed by one of the employees who a) knew Jon was out of the room and b) knew exactly which room to target. Nearly 48 hours later, there is still no resolution not word from the hotel with updates.
This is completely unacceptable by one of the country's leading chains.
