21 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
This hotel was great value for money and very convenient for our flight the next day. The hotel is situated just minutes away from the airport which makes it excellent if you have an early morning flight the next day or fly in late. The staff are very helpful and efficient. Rooms were spotlessly clean and very modern and provided all the basics that you may need for a very comforatble stay. Very similar to all other Hiltons but still very, very good. Overall I would recommend this hotel if flying from the airport as it is very close and very comfortable and also not bad value for money.
30 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
Connected to Gatwick's North terminal, the Hilton London Gatwick Airport offers comfortable accommodations with easy airport access. Room specials of $99 a night are often available making it an affordable option for those trying to save money while traveling.
My husband and I opted to stay at London Gatwick Airport to make traveling easier. Our flight was set to leave at 8:30am and we had to first catch a train from Bridlington to London making it a tight schedule if we didn't come into London the night before. I plan to travel in this manner far more frequently. Instead of feeling worn out from the train ride, we were able to get a good night's sleep and then catch our flight the next morning feeling refreshed and envigorated.
The queen bed was comfortable, but harder than some might like. I happen to prefer a firm mattress while my husband likes his a little softer. The bed was certainly more to my liking than his. The room size was average in comparison to other chain hotels. The bathroom is rather small, but the size of the tub more than makes up for it. The bathtub is certainly deeper than most American tubs making this a perfect tub for soaking after a long train ride!
We did use room service and they were adequate. Food is okay, though nothing I would rave about, but then few hotels offer truly impressive fare with room service. Prices for the room service were higher than I like paying, but one does tend to pay for convenience.
The check in staff were amazing--very friendly and efficient. They certainly made us feel welcome. While in the lobby we did hit the lobby bar for a drink. Prices were a little high, but again the service was great.
All in all, the Hilton London Gatwick Airport is suitable for those looking to recoup after a long flight or long voyage to the airport. Rooms were quiet and we found the hotel to be very suitable to our needs. Those looking for fancy five-star accommodations may not agree, but I feel the Hilton London Gatwick Airport is more than suitable for those looking to save a little money.
