Attended a scrap booking weekend. The room was clean, but extremely warm even when the thermostat was turned all the way to 'cool.' Decor throughout hotel was a mismatched lot of Tuscan, Empire, and casual. Not what you would expect in a Hilton. The 3 elevators are hideously slow. You can wait 5-10 minutes to get one. To make things worse on check-out day one was broken leaving the 200 people from this event and another large event with only 2 elevators. I advise taking a room on a lower floor and using the stairs. Both key cards to the garage didn't work. The food was excellent with a large selection although I was told the large selection was not usual. The bellhops were angels in helping all of us with our luggage and scrap booking materials. Staff were friendly and courteous.

If you were dropped in here blindfolded, upon taking off the blindfold you'd be surprised that you were in a Hilton being charged $250 a night.
The hotel staff was incredibly rude and apathetic to concerns. I arrived for a week-long stay only to find the carpet wet in odd areas, the foot of the bed and comforter at the foot of the bed saturated, the carpet sticky, one towel, stained sheets, an ancient TV, and undoubtedly the worst hotel shower ever.
The hotel is extremely worn and in desperate need of repairs and updates. They have three elevators for the entire building, and they are the slowest elevators on earth. Also, it's a nightmare to get to the parking area (if you self-park): upstairs, downstairs, around the whole building, through an underground shopping area, and through elevators.
The Golden Sheaf and its staff are fantastic, however. I recommend the NY Strip and the scallops, in the event you make the mistake of staying at this dump.

The location of this hotel is downtown, which is wonderful for shopping and sightseeing. The rooms were clean, although a little bit older. The bedding at the Hilton hotel is the same as all the Hilton hotels, absolutely wonderful. The food at the restaurant in this hotel was a bit pricey and not as good as I would have liked.
I am very likely
to return to the Hilton Harrisburg.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Despite the above complaints about the cleanliness of the room and the problems with maintenance, I found my room to be in great condition. I had one light bulb that burnt out and was immediately replace upon calling the front desk. What people don't realize is that if there is something not working, you have to let someone know so they can fix it instead of just complaining about it after you leave.
Compared to many other hotels I have stayed at this definitely deserves its 4-star rating.
