Hilton Greater Cincinnati Airport Hotel - Page 1

I booked a romance package evening for my wife and I on our 1st anniversary. We were going to check in around 4pm and go have a romantic dinner in the Downtown area returning to chilled sparkling wine in the room. We arrived at the property at 4:14 PM and were given our key. I sent my wife to the room while I finished and got our bags. 1st the attendant never asked for my honors number, had no idea that we had purchased a package and when I explained it to her and showed her the confirmation information she did not know what the package consisted of. My wife called my cell phone and said to not come up because the room was a disaster. They had given us a key to a room that had not been prepared. I remained calm and the desk clerk offered us two drink certificates (12$ total value) to relax in the bar while she had our room serviced. We went there and waited. After an hour of hearing nothing I had the bartender call to front desk and she was told the room was ready I went back to get our keys only to find nothing had been done, the room was not serviced. After over 2 hours we finally entered our room and were forced to order room service because we had missed our reservations. This is not to mention the 150 children there for a soccer tournament who ran the halls and would push every button on the elevators. The one security person did as much as he could but management should have had others working those halls. I started staying at Hilton properties with my company and have always trusted that by selecting a Hilton or Hilton property such as Embassy suites, it would be a good experience. Since the Hilton Netherlands in Downtown Cincinnati was booked up I assumed this property would be similar in accommodations. I WAS WRONG. This was assuredly the worst hotel experience I have had when staying at a premium hotel. I am highly disappointed and may be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

The location was convenient and everything was fine except for the shower backup. But I was overall happy with my stay.

I loved the room. There was a soft and comfortable bed just like I was hoping for. It was a little small, but nice. The pool and exercise room also were very nice. I was just surprised there was no one at the desk to greet us. I think he was sleeping. It was late.

I liked the Hilton that I stayed at. It was very clean and well kept. It was in a nice area with lots of restaurants and shopping. The hotel was close to Cincinnati, which was great, it only took about fifteen minutes to get there. The Steak and Shake across the street was a great place for a late night snack as well as breakfast. The food is good and service is fast and good. Newpost on Levy in Newport Kentucky was just great. They had live music outside, great shops, restaurants, and beautiful views of downtown Cincinnati. We ate at Cafe Istanbul and it was delicious. The front desk staff at the hotel could have been nicer and better at their job. We wanted to order a movie and tried three times to get them to activate the movie rentals on our TV, but they never did. The cleaning staff was great though. They got us anything we asked for, extra toilet paper and towels. They did a great job of cleaning and straightening up the room. I would stay there again. But this time I will complain if they don't activate the movies.

This hotel made me feel hip: I liked their modern and contemporary decor and furnishings. It was very trendy and stylish.
