21 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I live in Silver Spring, MD and I am 6 months pregnant and any pregnant women knows that you need some time away from everything and everybody, anyways my plans was to stay for 1 night but I ended up making another reservation for another night. I had such a relaxing time, the decor was wonderful and the service was amazing. I think the only down fall was the parking (which is $32) and evening room service ends at 10pm but otherwise that....the bathroom had a good shower head and hot water, the bed was so plush and comfortable ( I fell asleep instantly and slept like a baby ), I had more than enough space to do some work and I had snacks available to me 24 hours a day. Check out is also easy and I would come back anyday for a great getaway. I recommend this hotel to any and everyone who wants luxury at a very good price!

My husband and two kids (ages 5 and 11) and I go to Washington each year over Christmas break and stay in a new hotel each time. This year we chose the Hilton Garden Inn based on its proximity to the Metro/Mall and the fact that it had an indoor pool. We were very pleased with the hotel overall. The staff were all very nice (especially to the kids), the rooms were spacious, and the location was fantastic. Also, the price was right. We did wish that the pool were larger (it is tiny) and that the hotel restaurant were better suited for families. The restaurant is incredibly expensive (we ate there our first night and paid double what we paid for a fantastic Indian meal the next night) and the food is palatable but nothing to write home about (and the portions are small). Breakfast would have cost a fortune if we had eaten there, but we had the luxury of eating at the nice little Korean breakfast buffet (you can also order fresh-made) down the street and the wonderful old Waffle place across from Ford's Theater(this one is open 7 days a week). I have read reviews that say the hotel is noisy and that is certainly true, in large part because it is so close to the things you want to see that there is a fair amount of traffic. But we did not find the noise distracting or intolerable and the location, again, was so convenient that it made up for any traffic noise. Perhaps our favorite hotel in DC so far is the Renaissance near the convention center (they have cheap and wonderful room service and are also great to kids), but you can stay three nights at the Hilton for what one night at the Renaissance runs you and the location is just so much better. We would definitely think about staying here again.

We found a weekend rate at this hotel, and what a find! We got it on Hilton.com for $89 per night, and for that price, in all honesty, we weren't expecting much.

Were we ever surprised! I had contacted the hotel on Thursday, to request an early check in following a 13 hour flight from Honolulu. Not only did they return my call, and oblige my request, but the room was ready and they were expecting me at 8:15 Friday morning.

I was able to enjoy a nice breakfast before falling asleep for a few hours.

The room was clean, sufficiently large, and very quiet. The housekeepers were certainly willing to honor our requests for additional towels.

Probably the best part of this hotel is the location. DIRECTLY across the street from the McPherson Square Metro station (which is easily accessed from Dulles via the Washington Flyer bus to the West Falls Church Metro ... then the Orange line right to McPherson Square). This puts it just a few blocks from the White House, and not much farther to the other DC area sights (i.e. the mall, Washington Monument etc.)

We found the staff friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast buffet more than adequate.

They have a washer and dryer on the premesis, but we were somewhat put off by the hours (the laundry room closes at 11:00 PM, which is inconvenient if one is dining until 10, and wishes to return and do laundry - so as not to miss out on the main part of the day). All-in-all not a big deal.

The bed was clean, comfortable and soft. The TV had ample channels, and the internet access was speedy enough.

We would certainly return.
