This hotel was one of the better hotels I had without paying for such a high price. The price was reasonable and the room was great - beds were soft and very comfortable, NOTHING in the room looks old, the room had it's conveniences (small fridge,...

It was okay for the price – Posted Jul 20, 2007

Okay
41 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

We had a family reunion in Seattle and we booked six rooms for family members. We had an age range from two infants to a senior with a wheelchair. Upon first driving into the hotel parking lot, I noted that it was large with lots of lighting which was important since we would be helping our Uncle in and out of a vehicle into his wheelchair. I was impressed with the spacious entry area and got to know this area quite well while waiting for family to assemble for our daily activities.

The front desk is visible immediately upon entry. We had booked a king sized room two weeks prior and luckily had our confirmation page since the clerk explained that the system didn’t show that. Unfortunately, there were no king sized beds available that night so we were offered a room with two double beds and would be able to switch to a king for the remainder of our visit. For the inconvenience, we were offered a voucher for a free meal of our choice in the hotel’s restaurant. The rooms were small but clean and were supplied with a small fridge and microwave. My husband liked that we had free, high-speed wireless internet and was able to quickly setup access once he called the front desk to get the wireless information.

We made good use of the pool and hot tub. The pool was a decent size but there wasn’t a separate kiddy pool so we had to buy water wings so my nephew could swim safely. There were other kids swimming in the pool and it became annoying when they got overzealous and splashed the baby causing her to cry.

Breakfast was the only meal that we had in their restaurant, “The Great American Grill,” You could choose from a good sized buffet or order from the menu. We opted for the buffet since the price was right and it had a selection of fresh fruit, muffins, cereal, yogurt, plus a chef that happily prepared pancakes for me and an omelet for my husband. The food cooked by the chef was tasty.

When we were ready to check out, they did not have an option for express check-out so we had to wait in line. There was a mistake with our room rate; so again, it was a good thing that we had our initial confirmation page. The clerk stated that they had computer problems on the weekend, but I’ve never experienced problems during both check-in and check-out. This was an okay stay but I prefer to pay more for hotel amenities, a larger room, and the convenience of express check-out.

I stayed there off and on for the better part of 3 years...great local for Boeing and Paccar consultants. Clean, great staff, better views on the South side of the building.

Okay
46 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

The facilities are very nice, especially the pool. The front desk person was inefficient and on personal calls while customers were waiting, but other staff were accommodating. The price was good the first night, then went up inexplicably the second night, but still reasonable. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. I would stay here again.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Hilton Garden Inn Seattle/Renton.
I might recommend it to friends.
