50 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We drove 5 hours from Atlanta with internet reservations confirmation in hand, only to discover the hotel was full and nothing was to be done about it. The clerk at the desk called a few hotels in the area but did not offer to give the same rate as confirmed on the internet. Their sister hotel Double Tree had 5 smoking rooms available at triple the price. I would not stay in a smoke scented room for free. When I asked what could be done, she suggested I contact Hotel Plus Portal from the internet. I called internet reservations and spoke with someone else who took my cell number and never called back. This hotel apparently does not care if you make internet reservations. They can simply blame your troubles on the internet. I asked to speak to a manager but none appeared. We drove 5 hours back home to stay in our own bed. I thought Hilton properties had a better reputation. I guess not!
