51 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
One Year after Katrina. Location was both a plus and a minus - within one block of the Convention Center, but that one block was probably not the best to cross at night. (Cabs are popular at night!) Hotel is clean, good wireless, good fitness room, limited menu. Restaurant is somewhat short-staffed as most restaurants in New Orleans, but not a big problem. Comfortable for a business traveler.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center.
I might recommend it to friends.

I loved the location, it was convenient, but off the beaten path, and quiet. The staff was great. They have a great mini bar! Its a wonderful place, for the price.
The sheets were soft, they provided robes for us, the towel were soft, and the staff waited on us hand and foot.

I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The company I work for booked ten rooms at this hotel for a convention.
I live in Milwaukee and, as it happened, we got 10 inches of snow and my flight was cancelled on a Saturday. Keeping in mind that we had reserved 10 rooms and had 9 people staying there, I called the hotel directly and asked them to please keep my room reservation open and told them to go ahead and bill the empty room to the credit card they had on file. (They are so particular about having a credit card to bill to and then the one time you ask them to, they dont).
So I get down there the next day and they were sold out. It's now 8 pm and I managed to find a room at another hotel (for one night). I told our convention activities manager to take this hotel off of our list for good.

This is a great hotel, they have a nice staff, great food, everything you would expect out of New Orleans, after all they have been through, they still have a smile on their faces. The southern hospitality wins again. I will never stay anywhere else, ever!
