Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel - Page 1

This hotel, quite simply, is mediocre and antiquated. The decor looks like it hasn't seen an update since the LBJ administration. The rooms are small compared to today's standards, the bathroom is tiny, the television is clearly old and is fuzzy. My room had a bug flying around in it. They have vending machines on certain floors, but they don't even take dollar bills! The maids didn't leave soap without me leaving an explicit note asking for it. I tried the lunch buffet and it's really not very good. The pasta bar is about the only thing edible and that's not saying much since you put it together yourself.

Bottom line is this hotel is good for sleeping and not much else. Business travelers, you're MUCH better off in the Westin (lightyears ahead of this place) or even the Hyatt if your building is in that area.

The hotel was very nice. Check in was a little disappointing as our room was not ready and the agent said he would call us and let us know when it would be ready. After waiting three hours, I approached the desk and I asked if our room was ready and he said yes. I asked why he did not call as he said he would and he said the manager was supposed to do that. They were not really accommodating. But other than that, our stay was very nice.

I thought it was neat to stay in a real Hilton hotel, but I feel it was overpriced. The cost was high through the convention we were attending. Also, having to pay to park at the hotel is ridiculous.

The air conditioner was broken, they messed up our reservations, and the vending machines didn't have many options left.
