My husband and I were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary in Chicago. We recently had a death in the family and we were looking forward to a great weekend. When we arrived I spoke with one of he HHonors representatives to check in. I had reserved this reservation through a 3rd party and did not have my voucher. I was so surprised the way I was treated. She asked for the voucher and I told her I didn't have it. She got all upset and said great. You have to have this voucher or we are going to have to charge you regular price. You were supposed to bring this voucher with you. I was so embarrassed. You thought I committed a crime. I can't believe this is the first time someone forgot their voucher. she made a bigger deal than needed to. She went on to tell us that is how we get paid. She got upset because she had to call the 3rd party to get a copy of my room voucher. Needless to say, this wasn't a great start to a relaxing weekend. She checked with the manager and said she would have to wait until she got the voucher and if they didn't receive it I would probably have to send it to them. She (Alicia) was very rude. She notified us when we were able to check in. When we arrived she didn't even say hello. She looked at me and said are you ready for your key? I am not sure I will want to stay at the Chicaog Hilton again. We usually stay there for weekend trips and sporting conventions. Very dissappointed.

I came into Chicago highly anticipating my stay at the Hilton Chicago. Most of the reviews I read were positive and for the money that I was paying, I expected something nice. Boy was I wrong.
First, the parking situation was intentionally misleading for many reasons. They put out a sign that said the self-parking deck was full, even though there were still spaces. When we parked in the front to ask someone inside, the valet yelled rudely at us and was ultimately unhelpful. When you do park, it is very expensive. If you get it validated at the front desk, you can only park there till 3PM the next day. If you validate it at a machine outside, you get to park for 24 hours at the same price BUT you cannot leave the parking deck at all (front desk validation allows you to come and go as you please). However, none of the parking rules were made readily known to guests.
Our room experience didn't fare much better. We were shocked at the size of the room. It was TINY for the money we paid, but on a positive note our bathroom was huge in comparison. That was the only positive note. We discovered was a cut toenail in our sheets. The tables were very sticky from who knows what. In the bathroom we found hair all over the towels. When I turned on the water, it ran BROWN. Also the toilet seat would not stay up which is a hassle if you have a girlfriend who doesn't like pee on the seat. Also the bed was so squeaky that it was hard to keep my concentration when it was needed. I would highly recommend that you look somewhere else to stay.
I did complain about all this and the Hilton people were glad to bribe me with free parking, which I rightfully took. Luckily, I did thoroughly enjoy the city of Chicago, no thanks to the Hilton Chicago.
