The hotel was nice but one morning we had no hot water!

I am somewhat likely to return to the Hilton Chicago.
I might recommend it to friends.

I was very pleased with the efficiency of the staff and the comfort of the room. The room had two baths, which was convenient. I enjoyed the Irish pub, beautiful décor, and the history room. It was not quite as convenient for walking as hotels closer to downtown.

This hotel made me feel pampered: The room was luxurious and had two baths. The beds were very comfortable and the staff members were efficient and made us feel important.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Hilton Chicago.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This hotel is always clean and friendly. Other hotels in Chicago are not as clean and the staff is not as helpful. I also enjoy the old fashion feeling of the lobby and the classic decor of the rooms.

This hotel made me feel pampered: There was a present for my daughter's birthday, provided by the staff. The restaurant staff took extra good care of us the evening we arrived very tired from travel. They even provided my daughter with a special birthday dessert and a Chicago Bears' claw.

I am very likely to return to the Hilton Chicago.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This is an excellent hotel ... and the main reason I believe so is due to the staff. Upon check-in, we were recognized as HH Diamond members and put in a nice lakeview room on the Diamond level. This floor included a light happy hour and breakfast in the lounge every day.

We inquired about renting bicycles and the concierge took care of everything. Later on, we needed a suit altered at the last minute and the concierge again had the matter in hand smartly; a seamstress was to our room within an hour.

I did encounter some difficulty with room service on one of the three nights I was there - the person answering the phone did not speak English well, and came off as quite brusque. Other than that I could find no fault with the staff or service.

Our room, as mentioned, had an incredible view of Lake Michigan, had TWO bathrooms and was kept clean with two daily visits from housekeeping. The bed was soft, inviting, and had great linens.

We secured all of this for an exceptional price through the website.

Hilton located 720 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL, US, 60605

Located on Michigan Avenue's Cultural Mile, overlooking Grant Park and Lake Michigan, yhe Hilton Chicago is approximately 18 miles from O'Hare International Airport. The Hilton Chicago is in Chicago's cultural core near museums, theaters, and nightlife. It is near McCormick Place Convention Center. - I ask for help to get few good tickets to Chicago theater - no luck

got tickets but only for corner sits of the theater- could not enjoy show and I ask for a good tickets

Hotel amenities include the three restaurants, athletic club, valet laundry service, beauty salon, concierge desk, currency exchange, gift shop, local area transportation, shoeshine stand, and room service.

Hotel restraurants expensive, but have good fresh quality food

Room service - have to wait almost a hour for delivery of my mail

Good quality show shine

Guest rooms feature individual climate controls, cable TVs, pay-per-view movies, free weekday newspapers, clock radios, Internet access, automated voicemail, fax hook-up capabilities, irons and ironing boards, hairdryers, dual-line phones, and coffee service with complimentary coffee and tea.

pay-per-view movies - old movies and many adult films - all of them over priced fax hook-up capabilities - did not work for me ended up going back and fourth from main area lobby to service area just to fax and get my faxes

coffee service with complimentary coffee and tea - second grade products no taste individual climate controls - did not work properly ended up with cold

This hotel may have some historic value, but it is in desperate need of renovation. The rooms have a tired and drab look with the smell of smoke even in a non-smoking room. The entire hotel appeared unkempt. I have stayed at least 2/3 of Chicago's hotels that fancy themselves a cut above. The Hilton is not. It is without any doubt that I can say it is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in Chicago.

Nice hotel overall...but you can find an equally nice or nicer hotel (with more amenities) and spend far less money. When I arrived I was surprised at how nice the rooms where, but shocked at the prices! Drinks from the vending machines cost $3.00! Coffee packets for in-room brewing systems are $3.25 (for a single serving pod)! It also cost me $3.50 for seven minutes of internet. There was a bottle of water next to the television on the dresser that had a $6.00 price tag! I'm surprised they didn't charge for ice in the ice machines. The hotel boasts four great restaurants, but these prices are also radically high. My friend and I ate dinner at Kitty O'Sheas in the hotel and were surprised when we realized that beers cost $6.50 a piece! This is more expensive than beers at a White Sox game. Chicago is a relatively cheap city. There is no reason to charge those prices. One would expect a first-rate hotel like the Hilton to at least offer free internet access! I know that the Holiday Inn does!.

I also must complain about the unfriendliness of the staff. Several of the employees were arrogant and just plain rude. When I asked for the key to the mini-bar, the attendant asked for my I.D. (which is fine), but then insisted that I wasn't 21 (I'm 26). It turns out she was reading the expiration date on my license instead of the birth date. Then she claimed that my I.D. looked fake. I guess she's never seen a Texas driver's license before. I was in town for a professional conference and didn't appreciate being treated like a kid trying to sneak into an R rated movie.

Speaking of kids, for the first few days of my stay, the hotel was crawling with teenagers! There was some sort of High School Student Government convention going on in the hotel. They were everywhere! Goofing around with the elevators, sleeping on the couches in the lobbies, running down the halls screaming and giggling at 2am! Each group of teenagers was followed by equally troublesome adult chaperones that screamed and yelled orders at the kids. It was mayhem. I realize that it wasn't the hotel's fault, but it was an annoyance. The hotel also hosted a local prom on Saturday night.

The nearest subway stop was closed and I was forced to either walk five blocks to the next stop or take a cab. The concierge informed me that this particular subway stop always seems to close down on the weekends.

If you must stay at the hotel (if you're attending a conference for instance) then here are some tips: stop at Walgreen’s which is only a couple of blocks away and buy drinks and snacks to stock your hotel room. Also, don't eat at the hotel, instead, eat at the eleven city diner, or any of the other restaurants located nearby.

This is an excellent hotel with a very friendly staff. Our room phone was missing a cord and it was not connected to the wall. Other than this, we had a great stay.

This hotel made me feel entertained: I was at the hotel for the Midwest Convention. I enjoyed having the closed circuit TV about the convention in my room. The holiday decorations were also very nice in the lobby area.

I am very likely to return to the Hilton Chicago.

The room was very clean, well appointed and comfortable and we enjoyed having two bathrooms. The hotel is close to the museum campus. It is not in an area that is as walkable as some, but there is a park across the street, taxis are readily available and I believe they have a shuttle to the shopping district. The hotel included a great Irish pub with live music, two other restaurants and comfortable lounge and bar. We especially liked the history room. The staff members were attentive and knowledgeable.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: The grand staircase at the main entrance evokes feelings of walking into a palace.

I am very likely to return to the Hilton Chicago.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The location of the hotel is prime. The use of the gym requires an extra fee for most of the equipment.

This hotel made me feel pampered: The hotel delivered ash trays to my room when I requested a smoking room rather than changing my room assignment.

The hotel is conveniently located away from all the hustle and bustle of the shopping area. I liked the clean, well appointed room and the friendly, knowledgeable staff.

The hotel had a good location to the convention and the trade shows. I enjoyed the Irish group in the specialty lounge. They had poor sandwiches, but a good choice of beverages.

This hotel made me feel welcome: The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. The staff at various stations within the hotel was always smiling and ready with the initial greeting. The business center was hard to find. Check out was quick, efficient and easy.
