The setting - beautiful! The rooms - always clean! The service - friendliest housekeeping/service staff I have ever met. The booking and accounting office personnel - BE FOREWARNED! Do NOT have an issue with billing because these people will not be of much aide. For such an outstanding establishment, I had expected communication to my school district when it sent a purchase order to pay for my room TWO MONTHS in advance of this conference. Instead, no contact was made, and I was personally billed for two nights, plus all the ridiculous taxes, when I was sponsored by a tax-exempt entity. I found the office personnel very unwelcoming and very unwilling to help in any way. Even though I was struck by the facility, the amazing display of artwork, and the very courteous service staff, I would NOT recommend this as a place to stay while in Houston, for business or for pleasure. For the money it charges its patrons, one would expect more positive interactions with problems. There are many other places in town that apparently treat their customers better.
