This place is stunning. My wife and I stayed there for a weekend with some friends. It was one of the best experiences we've ever had. The area is beautful, the view of the ocean is breathtaking and the rooms were excellent. And the drive down from...
pros: Ocean Views, Concierge, PrivacyI choose this hotel to propose to my girlfriend. It looked really nice online and has a restaurant where I planned to propose. Their concierge, Charlie, hooked me up with a service called Romantic Room Designs,...
The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking! The service was impeccable: we were greeted with bottles of wine, water, and a letter from the general manager. The staff was very professional and the room was kept perfectly clean. When we...
We recently completed a three night stay at the Highlands Inn. Need less to say I was quite disappointed. The grounds are nice and the staff was helpful, but the rooms are terrible. Felt like we were staying in a shoe box. They are so small,...

I went here for my honeymoon and I have to say it was amazing. It is very pricey, but you get what you pay for. If you want a quiet weekend away from it all with spectacular views and short drive to Pebble Beach, wineries, and the fine cuisine in Monterey, this is definitely the place to stay.
We booked the room for a special occasion and planned on staying two nights. We figured even if the weather was poor we could enjoy our lovely room. We had seen website pictures and heard wonderful stories of the spacious rooms with jacuzzi tubs....

I have stayed at many resorts and this one has been by far the worst! The area is very dirty, there is trash everywhere. The service is awful, they are rude and will not help you out in any way. Yeah the pictures of the resort are beautiful but it doesn't look like that at all. I will never go back there again. I probably wouldn't even think about booking a vacation with Hyatt at all. I am not kidding think twice before staying here.
Perched atop the Pacific Coast Highway right outside of Carmel, this place is spectacularly beautiful even when the weather is cold and rainy. In fact, it's almost better that way, because you can take advantage of the in-room wood burning...

Amazing views & accomodations in Carmel. This is truly a wonderful get-a-way. Nestled in the hills of Carmel the Highlands Inn is a true departure from the norm. The views are sweeping, the rooms decadent, and the hospitality is unsurpassed. The rooms are high end and decorated in deep warm tones. The spa tubs are a centerpiece in the room. Yes...a centerpiece. You can then relax on the deck high above the Pacific Ocean while checking out the multi million dollar homes. The only thing better is the on-site restaurant, The Pacific Edge. It is a special place. It's not cheap but you don't leave feeling like you overpaid. You feel like you've had a special dining experience. If you are a wine lover...you'll be amazed at the wine selection. My husband could spend hours just enjoying the wine book. The wine cellar, which I have not been to myself, is something my husband always wants to check out. The views are amazing from the restaurant as well. We actually had a room that allows dogs. I believe it's small dogs. I say...define small.:-) We pushed the limits but no one seemed to mind. They also have a nice little breakfast/lunch spot on site as well. Once up the hill you don't really want to make too many trips back/forth. Cost is expensive but they do have deals and...for us...we are fortunate to have a family member that works for Hyatt.:-)
I am very likely
to return to the Highlands Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
