Heron House Inn - Page 1

Our trip was for 4 days originally. The 13th through the 17th of July, 2007. When we arrived, the place looked lovely. The wine and cheese was even a nice touch. We slept okay friday night, a bit warm in the room. We woke up the next morning, saturday morning covered in Bed Bugs. I told my wife, don't move, something is on your pillow. She got in the shower crying and I searched the bed and around the bed only to find several brown tick like blood sucking bed bugs. I called the front desk and a staff member came to the room with a chip on her shoulder, as if we did something wrong. Just before we left, I stopped into the front office to pick up my money. This is when another staff told me that the bugs are probably mating like my wife and I were. That's when we left there immediately and checked into another hotel (Hyatt). We have not had a good night sleep since our experience. Since that morning, I have learned so much about bed bugs and what these bites all over my body are doing. Which by the way, have lasted now for over 2 weeks. We had to wash everything right away as to not bring the critters home with us. The hotel has given us a full refund for the 4 nights which I paid for in cash on the first day we arrived. Other than our refund, the hotel has not handled this situation as profesionally as we would have liked from the start.

The staff was friendly and fast. The hotel grounds were lovely. The room was adequately furnished and well lit.

This hotel made me feel respected: They treated us like special guests during out entire stay. We were greeted and spoken to often and always with high regard.
