We stayed at Henlopen Hotel for a friend's wedding. We have traveled a lot and were shocked at the unprofessional, unkempt staff and the sad state of our room. Our room was unlocked and quite dirty. There was hair, dirt and food on the floor, a sticky residue on all surfaces (including radiator, floors, tables), and the mini fridge was moldy. The service was incredibly slow - we had to request an iron 3x before it arrived. When it did arrive we seriously considered attending the wedding wrinkled b/c of the dirty appearance of the iron. Additionally, the hotel overbooked rooms, and the groom and his father were left without rooms (for which the hotel did not apologize). The bride booked this hotel more than 15 months ago. I feel horrible that though she spent a lot of time planning this wedding, her guests will remember the horrible Henlopen Hotel.

took my 3 grandchildren 2 years in a row . WE LOVED IT !!!! Beach front room very reasonable rates ,the front desk lady:s were so kind felt like old friends, and were very kind to the children they dont want to stay any where else !! loking forword

I liked the nice clean beach. The hotel was right on the boardwalk and it was very roomy.

pros: An institution, Affordable, On the boardwalkI grew up with friends who had a condo here, and I've stayed here twice

in the last five years. I love the Henlopen -- nothing fancy, but nothing
