we had a whirlpool room at a great rate. Great breakfast with waffles, cereal, biscuits and gray etc. Perkins, metro buffet, Buger King and more a block or less away. Friendly staff. Pool kinda small.

In the end of Feb '06, Iowa was hit by a blizzard and power was out for quite a few days. I needed a place to take my daughter and elderly grandmother to keep warm. I called several hotels and the Heartland was the only place that told me they ...
40 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
The room was small and noisy. The staff was rude and unhelpful-- a first for Iowa. And even worse, they refused to give me the rate their reservationist quoted me--even with my confirmation number and even though they acknowledged she had quoted me that rate! Unbelievable.
I finally had to contact their corporate HQ to get a credit to my card, which was given grudgingly and without a word of apology.
I've stayed at the Heartland Inn at the Des Moines Airport, which is always terrific. The Des Moines location has super friendly & helpful staff. Stay away from the Heartland Inn in Cedar Rapids. Nasty.

23 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
The location was good, with a wide variety of restaurants within walking distance and only a short drive from the shopping district. The staff was polite, the rooms were comfortable and the facilities were clean and well kept. The only problem was that the layout was a little confusing. It was difficult to find our room!
They provided a kitchen area for guests that was open all evening, with a microwave, a refrigerator, cupboards and drawers stocked with silverware, plates, napkins and condiments. The decor was warm and homey.
I am very likely
to return to the Heartland Inn Cedar Rapids.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
