The pictures of the rooms when we booked online are very misleading. We booked a room with a whirlpool in it and it was very small. Layout of room was horrible. Whirlpool was the only positive aspect of the room but it didn't keep us there. We...

Horrible
Basically, hotel needed updates. We were instantly turned off when we saw the "Housekeeping positions available" sign. All downhill after that. Stains on carpet in halls, and in rooms. Staff was friendly, but the hotel in general just needed updates.

Excellent
We stayed for Adventureland Amusement Park and it was an excellent choice. We just walked across the street from the parking lot over to adventureland so we didn't need to drive over and deal with parking arrangements over there. The staff is...
55 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Its in a great location but is too small. It needs to put in a party room, as we were told to stay out, because they had it reserved. The staff responded to my complaints and sent me a free nights stay at any of their locations. I haven't used it, yet! It had a casino nearby the hotel, so that was great. The pool was over-run with unattended children, which was forbidden, per the rules on the wall, yet nobody enforced them. I had to be a big mean lady and yell at the boys for hitting my friend in the head with some kind of object. The pillow top mattress was good and I got a good nights sleep, except for the small children running up and down the halls at all hours, and I blame bad parenting, there.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Heartland Inn Altoona.
I might recommend it to friends.

Purpose of my trip was to take grandkids to Adventureland. Motel location and cost were excellent. However, accomadations left much to be desired. Room carpet was dirty. Swimming pool had so much chlorine that your eyes burned without getting in the ...
I love the prices, which we were able to get a room without reservations. But the one and only problem I had was; the reading light just above the headboard was too low. Other than that, I love the stay. Breakfast was...
