I have stayed at the Hawthorne on many different occassions over the last ten years. I have NEVERhad any problems with booking, paying, etc. The staff is very nice and courteous. I've always had four or five people in the room...
70 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for business
The staff helped out tremendously with several minor problems we had as a college track & field team going into competition.
With a big bus it was sort of isolated for short haul trips...cars or vans would overcome this problem. For some reason I could not get one of the lamps off in my room...but I'm able to sleep with all lights blazing so that didn't bother me.
All in all the University T & F team would stay again in the future. It was close to Wake Forest University so that was a plus.

We'd much rather have been at the Hawthorne for a pleasure trip than a medical consult at Wake Forest UBMC... but all said and done, the staff was exceptionally helpful, courteous and just plain sweet! :)
I've stayed here about 20 nights in the past year and have never had any problems with reservations and or service. Their buffet is oustanding and the hospitality of the hotel staff is friendly and accomodating.
I was recommended to stay at the Hawthorne by another Hotel. It was in an awful place because it was not close to the conference center. In addition, one of our bedspreads was NASTY on the inside. When we called, they did not know if they could...
