Desperately needs a renovation!

The Hawthorne Suites has become a rat hole of a motel, which is why it is easy to book. The outdoor areas are worn and dirty, the plumbing is abysmal, and the rooms have gotten so dank that there are distinct smells of mold and mildew. They have promised a renovation for the last year, but obviously want to fleece the consumers as long as possible. This is unfortunate for a Hyatt property!

Stay away from the third floor

If you are on the first floor near the pool it is a great stay, if you are on the second floor it is on OK stay. If it is a full house and they put you on the third floor, it is a disaster. If you make a reservation ask for the first floor, they are doing upgrades and they started on the first floor.

It's a good value for its proximity to Disneyland. They have nice common facilities. The room was okay but the TV didn't work upon arrival, some lights needed replacing, and the drapes did not operate properly.

Would not stay there again

37 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We reserved and were given a price for a two bedroom suite and two double suites. When we arrived, the two bedroom turned out to be a one bedroom and ended up paying double the price quoted for the two bedroom. The room smelled like mold and of the three rooms (we were a party of 10) the air conditioning did not work in one of them for two days. We received one bottle of shampoo for three days and had no remote for the TV. The keys kept deactivating and we had to go to the front office 8-10 times to get it working again. The service was poor. As for the breakfast there were all sorts of bugs in the area where it was served. I would not stay here again if they paid me. In one of the rooms small bugs were coming from the sink.

36 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
The Hawthorn Suites in Orange, Ca. was not what I expected or what the pictures portrayed. First the good, the place has a very nice heated pool that the kids loved. Also, they serve a full free breakfast.
Now the not so good, our room was dirty. The furniture and carpet were soiled. The air conditioner needed to be fixed and the roofed leaked on the King bed in the bedroom (we were on the third floor). After a phone call about the leak and then actually going down to the front desk and complaining, did I get any help. I did get a new room but only after they tried to tell me that they only had a "smoking" room available. Overall, I would not return to this place. They submit nice pictures on the internet but looks are not what they appear with this place. I was not very happy.

I fell down in the slippery shower because there was no rubber mat.

Excellent breakfast provided. Nice facilities. The friendliness of the employees was less than satisfactory though.

The staff was pleasant, but the request for a non-smoking room wasn't honored, and because the sleeping room had a window on the balcony the noisy kids late at night and early in the morning tended to wake us/keep us awake.

Always clean and professional. Many extra conveniences.
This hotel made me feel secure: There was no one except the guests and the employees.

It was great. No problems and very helpful.
This hotel made me feel content: They had directions printed for everywhere we wanted to go and the buffet breakfast saved time and money.
