17 year old female with a moderate budget

Summer Vacation

Freeport, Maine

On Sunday, July 27, 2008, I went to with my family my dad, mom, sister, and grandmother we drove to Freeport, Maine we drove three and half hours. At later, when we arrived at the hotel at Harraseeket Inn that the hotel was very nice very clean that it was big room. At one day, we went to the swimming pool was only indoor that was very nice and warm big pool only 3-4 feet deep.

We stayed at the hotel for five days and four nights that was very good, at every morning, we ate breakfast at the restaurant at the hotel that many foods were so delicious we had eggs with cheeses, potatoes, and etc so good! Some few restaurants were okay but many restaurants had very delicious foods at the most.

Many stores in Freeport, Maine that different stores clothes, games, books, and etc many things and also LL Bean was very cool clothes very nice store. One day, we went to the Delorme globe was the revolving globe that was very nice and we went to map store very cool.

At after map store, we drove at Portland, Maine that was very nice towns and we went to ate lunch on the boat at Dimillo’s that foods were very good and very nice restaurant on the boat. At after lunch, we went saw that sign we went to at Maine School for the Deaf that was big school and nice.

One day, we went to at Desert of Maine was very beautiful and large land that was rare that only one had desert in Maine that the most desert like at other countries at Africa. We visited old buildings that the farm was very nice and we also learned the history of desert that the built was made at 1783.

Dinnertime, we went to at the restaurant at Muddy Rudder that the foods were very good and we met a man he knew how to play piano that was very interested for me and that I would learn about it.

I loved anything about in Freeport, Maine I never saw that before I think that the vacation was best ever in my whole life. I think maybe I will be come to this again in the fall will be beautiful that fall is my favorite season and I loved this so much it that was good experienced for me.

33 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This weekend was out 12th Anniversary and we wanted to stay in Freeport. We made reservations at the Comfort Suites and had called to confirm our reservation twice! Upon arrival the staff could not find our reservation and then (after finally finding our reservation) stated that we were a day late and we were lucky to have a room. No apologies for their screw up! We were mad and called the Harraseeket on the small chance that they would have something last minute. They happened to have a cancellation and Jean got us right in. She was extremely helpful and friendly. It was nice to see Mohamed's friendly face upon arrival =) We saw him in multiple roles over the weekend but he was the one to greet us upon arrival and had a smile every time we saw him.

We had a wood fireplace, fridge, kitchen sink, coffee maker with tea & coffee available and whirlpool tub in our room. They bring a bag of ice and actual creamer (instead of the powdered stuff) if you ask. We were in the Carriage House and told that animals were allowed there but we never heard any and never heard our neighbors either. The breakfasts are awesome! They have so many different things to choose from (i.e. eggs, french toast, pancakes, rolled oats, muffins, fruit, beans, bacon, sausage, hash browns, cereal, breads, etc.) It is buffet style but you have a waitress bring you drinks.

We had dinner at the Tavern but went a little early since we didn't have lunch. We got there around 4:30pm and you need to wait until after 6pm if you want a full choice of the menu. Some things, like spit roasted chicken, are not ready to order until later on. We went for a swim while most people were at dinner. There is a large bathroom to change in with many stalls and towels are available by the pool. It was nice to be able to change right there.

One downfall is that the parking lot is out back and huge. It is a long walk if you aren't one of the lucky 4 to get a spot by the Inn. It is well lit and there are video cameras everywhere. It gives a sense of safety. The Harraseeket is also very close to the shops and you really don't have drive anywhere. You can walk right from the Inn.

When it was time to leave, check-out was very easy and we got a discount on the room for eating at the hotel Sunday night. The check-out staff were very friendly. I am definitely going back again and I have referred The Harraseeket to several people already. There is a feeling of luxury and friendliness there that makes you want to return and see everyone again!

I am very likely to return to the Harraseeket Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

33 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

Flawless front desk staff. Jean is an absolute pleasure to deal with, her friendly smile and professional service was amazing! She made our weekend a pleasure! The room service is a bonus and the maids were very helpful and courteous.

This past weekend was my third time stay here and The Harraseeket Inn made our very short two night getaway a truly relaxing time. We were impressed with the package deals and incentives... We ate at the Broad Arrow Tavern and could not go wrong with a fresh lobster roll and stew, delicious! Also be sure to catch afternoon tea and sample the fresh fruit and cheeses that they offer guests... We took a swim in the lap pool and enjoyed the exercise equipment as well.

The fireplace and comfortable king sized bed in our room at the carriage house was clean and very spacious. We had a couch, kitchenette, fridge, iron, ironing board, hair blow dryer, Jacuzzi tub (that was clean and sanitized, unlike allot of other places) and other little things that made the stay enjoyable. Such as; bathrobes, hangers that actually come off the rack, luggage racks, extra blankets, extra pillows, heat lamp in the bathroom and the complimentary stocking of tea, coffee and bathroom supplies was very well done.

Oh and I have to mention breakfast. If you stay includes breakfast, get up in time and enjoy it. It is buffet style and is not your free muffin and dry cereal fare... Fresh scrambled eggs, delicious bacon, hot rolled oats, baked beans, fresh blueberry muffins/bread juices, coffee, tea selection, French toast, fruit and other items that change daily. It's a can't miss. I have to admit though it's my third time there and I still don't quite understand the tipping procedure. The breakfast is included with the stay, but not the tips. When you get your "bill" for breakfast it's blank - so you don't have any price point to reference the tips. Besides that it's a buffet, it seems that the "waitress" seats you then asks coffee/juice then that's about it. so it's thought to determine what to tip in my opinion. I don't like to under-tip, I usually overtip, but that part is a bit confusing to me.

As always there is room for improvement in some areas which is why I rated the 9. The shower head in the bathroom is kinda weak and one thing I look for is a good forceful shower in a hotel stay. Also it would be nice if the the TV's in the rooms had at least an RCA input for DVD etc. SVIDEO would be a little more up to date. The carriage house needs to have access to the internet as well - this could be done overnight and very inexpensively and would be a huge bonus to the stay. Having a microwave option in the kitchenette would be a huge plus as well. The excersize equipment was very nice, but the sound didn't seem to work on the TV's we could have missed something. All in all these little nit picking things are nothing compared to the level of all around service and warm atmosphere at the Inn. You will enjoy your stay.

I am very likely to return to the Harraseeket Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

It was a very pleasant and comfortable facility.

This hotel made me feel elegant: It was very comfortable. High quality tea was served and the lobby was quite formal.

I am very likely to return to the Harraseeket Inn.
