Harrah's North Kansas City Hotel

We had a nice suite on the 6th floor, granted that there was not much to look at outside. We seriously considered staying another day, instead of just the 2 that we were there. People were are very friendly and the food was good, however if you eat there more than a couple of times (buffet) it is pretty much the same thing over and over again. So if you plan to stay more than a couple of days you might plan to eat somewhere else. Our biggest downer about the room is that the vents were not clean, but overall everything else was clean.

Last night was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I stayed at the Harrah's North Kansas City property for the second time. The first time was a week prior; we had heard that the new hotel was beautiful and the stay was great. On that trip we couldn't get into the new section and got stuck on the old side; it was ok, but not great. The rooms were stale and musty and the service was ok. This trip was a nightmare. We got into the new tower and the room was beautiful. The temperature was about 75 degrees so we set the thermostat down and went to Ameristar to play (that is a whole different story) and came back 6 hours later to find that our room was still 75 degrees. The maintence man stared at the thermostat blankly for 15 minutes and said he couldn't do anything except talk to the front desk and see about getting a new room. All the rooms were full, so we checked out at midnight and drove home where the air conditioning works. Their response about the service was that the room was comped, I wasn't out anything, so what does it matter? I would recommend that you find a different hotel to stay at.

My room was nice. I did however have a bit of a problem while there. My car was damaged by valet and they called me by phone in my room. I later found out that security went through my glove box without permission to obtain my insurance information. When I spoke to the Security manager he was very rude. He felt as though a snobbish "Im sorry, I don't know what else you want." was the proper way to handle things. He then hung up on me. The general manager stood behind his security manager and acted rude as well. Alot of my friends and family used to go there and will now take their business else where.

They need to figure a way of putting patrons names on the valet tickets so that they are not going through personal items.
