46 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Yes, they are renovating three floors at a time, the parking garage is a hassle if you have a car, the elevators can be slow during the busiest times of the day (meal times) but . . . the location is fantastic! Right across the road from the beach! We stayed here in May 2008 with two kids and a grandkid. Our kids were able to party at night without having to drive around, the grandkid loved the pool and kids play area (behind the lobby inside) and the kids activities. He is only 3 so it wasn't a stretch for him. Also, they let you rent chairs and umbrellas cheaper than the beach people did. Room was comfortable and clean - we were facing the intracostal side and I was glad. I think if you faced the ocean side you would have had to listen to the bars blaring music until 3 am. Overall, we liked the place and I would go back again.
