29 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Last month my husband and I spent 16 nights in the Hawaiin islands. We were very excited to visit Kauai for the first time. We stayed our first night at the Hanalei Bay Resort. I was thankful that it was only one night. The location is great. Princeville is beautiful. However, our room was disgusting. Upon check-in the staff was receptive but not overly helpful. We were told to wait in the car for bell service to our room since it wasnt easy to find. After a lengthy wait, we decided to find the room on our own. We carried our own luggage past dumpsters where we spotted bell man smoking with his friends at the maintenance building. When we finally arrived in our room we were very disappointed in the cleanliness and view. We paid a little extra for a mountain view, but it should have been the tree view. We thought we could have drinks and enjoy the sunset at the Hotels Lounge. We had read great reviews about it. However, the entire lounge was closed to the public for private parties the entire week. Overall, we recommend staying elsewhere.

It is a little piece of heaven on earth. The grounds are spectacular, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the restaurant and the bar are both excellent. Be sure to attend the activities presentation. It is a great place to learn the best things to do
The atmosphere is spectacular. Every corner has a gorgeous view. The pool and the hot tub are so beautiful they look like they came straight off a movie set. There are lots of grass, fairly easy access to the amazing beach and lots of places to stop and t
I am very likely

I wouldn't suggest anyone who wants to be near anything like water, shopping, food (their restaurant is awful, their chef just quit) condo was not clean, very worn, air conditioning didn't work in one of the bedrooms. No wait staff at the...

Okay
This is our second time at the Hanalei Bay Resort. Our first time 11 years ago was excellent as the resort was well cared for and in good condition. However, we've just returned from our second visit this June, which sadly, pales in comparison....
You can't beat this place!

Excellent
This place was a step out of the typical hotel and right in line with a tropical paradise hotel. The views were incredible and the beach was a very short walk down a path. Did I already mention the...

Excellent
I don't want to recommend this resort to anyone....because I don't want anyone else to compromise my ability to get a reservation there. It is absolutely beautiful, quiet, old Hawaii at its best, and with excellent (though moderately...
What you won't be told when you make your reservation is that you will be charged an additional $35/day if you want room cleaning and an additional $10/day if you need towels. Staff are rude and management......
