Horrible
Rooms were dirty and not vacuumed so there were pebbles all over the carpet. Light bulbs burnt out. No "complimentary toothpaste if yours is forgotten" like their sign in the bathrooms of the rooms say - we were charged. No help with baggage. Food...

Good
Great views; good sized room; free breakfast; close to town - but not within walking distrance; but you couldn't check in early ... and then we had to remind them we were waiting 15 minutes after the 3:00 check-in time. Younger staff not that...
55 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
It is a no pet hotel..They allowed me to take my dog crate in for a $300.00 fee that was to be returned to me upon checkout...after room inspection. The manager was UNAVAILABLE when I checked out. I was told to call the next day to speak with him. When I did this he was unavailable to speak with me but told the desk staff to inform me my $300.00 could not be returned. The room was never inspected..... I just got screwed!!!!
Also, the glass on the patio was so dirty I could not see the ocean without standing. The toilet was stopped up & the in room movie sound was messed up and you couldn't hear what the actors were saying. I told the front desk person about this problem & no offer of a refund for the movies was offered. The carpets were dirty and torn in the suite I stayed in.
I would not reccommend this hotel at all. I have stayed at Hampton Inn's for years and usually love them. This was certainly NOT the case here.
39 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Stayed for 2 nights at almost $200/night during a slow off-season period.
They missed my wake-up call the first morning, and later a couple walked into our room while my fiance and I were dressing. Turns out the front desk staff 'forgot' the room was occupied and gave them key cards. When she called them to complain they blamed her for not double-locking the door!!! The manager was conveniently absent the whole time, and has not returned my phone calls to discuss this. They have a "100% satisfaction or money back" pledge, but apparently it's just lip service.
There are plenty of places to stay which are near this one, and all of them are cheaper. Save your money and avoid this place.

The location was wonderful, but a bit pricey for what was offered. The room was clean and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Internet access was a bit unwieldy. There was no restaurant within walking distance.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Hampton Inn & Suites Crescent City, CA.
I might recommend it to friends.

The sign on the front of the building suggests that this property is a "resort". It isn't. However, the ocean views are incomparable, the staff is sweet (if not overly professional), the rooms are spartan but cozy. It's all about the ambiance.
The breakfast offerings were quite odd for a place on the North Coast (biscuits and gravy?).
We made use of the workout room on our parents-only retreat, and while we espied the indoor pool, we did not partake - although the pool itself has a priceless view of the rugged Pacific Ocean.
Perhaps the best part of the whole stay in Crescent City was the tax-free shopping just up the road in Brookings. My wife would have been just as happy to stay inside the Fred Meyer store as anywhere else.
Dining is very limited in Crescent City. If you happen to travel here, do yourself a favor, go to Safeway and stock up on comestibles, and make use of the fridge and microwave provided in your room.
