The check in was fast and quick. However, the staff was not the nicest people.
This hotel made me feel elegant: The whole hotel is basic on a 17th century theme. There is a requirement to wear a suit when checking in.

Downtown San Diego. The hotel has a great location in downtown. Breakfast was included and our room was quiet with a nice view. Our room was not ready at the check in time so we went out and came back again. The staff were very kind and curteous.

We just checked in from the airport. The free shuttle driver was very helpful. We were upgraded to a huge suite with Hilton Honors Gold. It's a great location for our trip.

Trains!. Hotel was in a great location downtown, but it was also next to the Amtrack Station and local trolley station. A train would pass by every two hours and wake us up with the loudest horn I think I have ever heard. If you stay here, ask for a room up front on the opposite side of the train stations.

We always try to stay at Hilton properties, we love the perks of being a Diamond member of the Honors program. This Hampton is in a great location, within walking distance or a trolley ride right out the back door. We worried about trolley noise but there wasn't any. We would stay again!
This hotel made me feel important: They had our reservations waiting, upgraded our room, and because we arrived very early, handled our luggage for us

I was disappointed with the airport shuttle. They promised a pick up and return to the hotel within twenty minutes, I waited over an hour and still had to take a cab. I requested a non-smoking room, but was given a smoking room that absolutely reeked of cigarettes. I requested a new room, which I was given. The window was less than a hundred meters from train tracks, and the trains ran all night. In the morning, work started at about seven a.m. on a building deconstruction, this was right across the street and less than fifty meters from my window, it was incredibly loud. I took pictures if you would like photographic evidence. I will never stay at this facility again.

When I arrived I called for the hotel airport shuttle. I was told it would be there in fifteen minutes. Thirty five minutes I called again and I was told it would be there in twenty more minutes. After forty more minutes there was no shuttle, I called again and I was told to take a taxi and I would be reimbursed. I had booked a non-smoking room. The room I was assigned smelt terribly of cigarette smoke. I asked for and I was given another room. This room was right near the train tracks and the trains ran all night. Very early the next morning I was awoken by another loud noise as a building was being demolished right outside my window. Overall, it was a disappointing stay. I would not consider this particular hotel ever again.

It was comfortable. Breakfast was included and was excellent. It was centrally located. They had a courtesy van to get to the airport, and they could do the online printing of a boarding pass for Southwest Airlines. It was near Amtrak (one day, I took the Coaster commuter train from there). For a visit to San Diego, it is an excellent choice.

It was a nice place to stay and near many things but is too close to the Trolley and it tends to be noisy on the right side of the hotel. I had to change rooms when I first got there because I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep. Once I changed rooms it was much better.
