Hampton Inn Matthews Hotel

I cannot believe we spent $130. for a night at this hotel. We could have stayed at a B&B. Yes, the room was clean-although there wasn't either a fridge nor microwave. When we went down to breakfast, that is when the extreme disappointment hit. Breakfast in a bag! No hot fresh cooked food; no buffet; no eggs / bacon; etc... Last year we stayed at a different chain hotel in Asheville that was less expensive, & yet we had all amenities - as well as a chef at breakfast cooking food to order!!! We will never be back to this Hampton, & if the Hampton's are like this at even 1 more elsewhere, we'll never stay at a Hampton again!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff there made me feel right at home. When I went down for the breakfast...the hostess there and even the front desk lady greeted me with big smiles. I got my breakfast together and as i started to sit down...the gal from the front desk was there...newspaper in hand and asked if I'd like a paper to read with breakfast....talk about service.

I felt like I was at home and I can't wait to go back....It's a little far from where I need to be in CHarlotte....but for THAT kind of service....I'll drive the extra miles.

They always have a consistent fair price.

Hampton Inns are a known quantity to us. It's not luxurious, but has all the amenities we need including wireless Internet.
