Hampton Inn Manhattan Seaport Hotel

This hotel is located in Manhattan in the Financial District. It is a few short blocks from Pace University (6 min. walk) and Ground Zero (10 min. walk). The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful; however there was one night clerk who was not that welcoming in my opinion. They serve a nice breakfast (eggs, ham or sausage, pancake, yogurt, fruit, cereal, teas, coffees, etc..). The downside is that you cannot take one of the low cost airport shuttles to this hotel because they will NOT take you this far down into Manhattan; thus, the cab ride is expensive. I paid a $45 fee for a car that the hotel contracts with (their company). The hotel staff stated that this pays for the fare, tip, toll fee, etc., but beware because the car driver tried to jack up the price by %5 saying that it was for the toll. I called him on it and he let it go. Otherwise, this hotel is very affordable and the accommodations are wonderful. Further, the bedding is very soft (down feather) and clean!

It is competitively priced and has a knowledgeable staff. It is several blocks from the subway station.

It is very convenient for the South Street Seaport and Wall Street and is very clean. It's a four-block walk to the subway. It is not convenient for uptown shopping.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: It was a very quiet hotel in spite of its proximity to major highways. The beds were great.

I had a pleasant stay. It was the best price we found in the city.
