Hampton Inn Amelia Island Hotel

The staff at the front desk was rude and, worst of all, when we mentioned things were awry, they were actually combative! So much for Southern hospitality.

My son used his Hilton Honors points at the Hampton thinking we wanted to be by the beach. Trouble was, the hotel was a real dump. The TV was blurry, sticky carpets, sticky doors; a water pipe broke on our floor in the hallway. It took two days to get a rug blower up there. The electricity went out. I could go on and on. If you like morning coffee with rancid cream lumps this is your place.

If you want charm and hospitality don't bother. We checked out, even though we paid for the room for the night. It was that bad.

The Hampton Inn hotels are always conveniently located, well appointed, extremely comfortable and, usually, very clean. Their complimentary breakfast is generally good and adequate. Their online reservations are easy, fast and efficient.
