We've stayed here many times and have always had nothing but the best service.
We love the fact that we can bring our dogs to a nice resort. The dog rooms are clean. They provide doggie sheets and a doggie treat bag for pampered pets. However, if I didn't have a pet I'd opt for non-pet rooms up higher. The view is great from the upper balconies and they only allow dogs on the lower levels. I suppose if you hate dogs this wouldn't be a good place for you. I've never heard noise from barking dogs. Even as a pet owner/lover that would irritate me.
We love room service from the Georgios (I think that is the right name). This isn't the kind of hotel you find a bellman. I'd consider this a motel even though it is quite large.
We'll go back because the Hallmark is clean, friendly, and has well equipped rooms for a decent price...and they allow pets. It also feels very safe here. Another huge plus is the wonderful beds.

After a long weekend camping we reserved a room at the Hallmark resort a week in advance. After a two hour drive we checked in and recieved wonderful customer reception.Ordered extra towels and robes for our spa and then found it did not work...The front desk sent a bellman to help us move next door. I went to the desk to get new keys and apologise for being so much trouble but it was for a special occasion and we wanted it to be perfect. As we were celebrating a Birthday. They reccomended a great place to dine for the evening.Apon returning to the room .we filled the spa and undressed to partake.Knock knock at the door. The police were there to evict us for alledgedly "trashing the other room"I was forced to dress naked in front of two officers. The General manager told us the next day when we called the hotel that he had seen both rooms and did not consider them "trashed at all"
Why then were we kicked out at 10:30 at night and told we would be paying for a room we did not use for more 20 minutes !

I like your hotel! I was expecting that we will get the worst room since we have a dog. Our room was so big and we have access to the beach! I like the amenities , like the microwave, the refrigerator since we brought some foods from home. I would likely come back to this hotel !!! The only thing though is that there was no bell man to help us, and nobody help us even though the people in the counter saw how we need help. So hopefully next time, there is already a bellman.

Needs some maintenance. Location of resort is close to a state park for Yaquina Bay's old light house, which is a nice place to visit, it provides nice views of the bay bridge and ocean, and it has a fun history. Location is close to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, which is a must see. Hotel is set on a steep hill, and access to the beach is not easy. Be sure that you have a car because the area around hotel is very unfriendly to bicyclists and pedestrians (no bike paths, no sidewalks, no boardwalks) Also, the glass window panes in rooms have a cloudy haze (probably due to sandblasted surface from constant 25 mph winds after 10 am each day), which creates hazy window views of the ocean. Rooms are a little out of date; dark carpeting, BLAH! wall colors, no wall art or framed pictures, and old plumbling fixtures. Jaccuzzi for room is located next to the bed (out of place), and is set in darkest part of room - it would be nicer if it were a little more private and/or was near a window close to a view of the ocean.

Our visit was very nice. We had accommodations for ourselves and my daughter and her family. We also had our dog with us and he was accepted. Our room was very clean and very roomy. It had a loft above our bedroom and our daughter and her husband slept up there. We were facing the Pacific Ocean and it had a nice patio porch with chairs. We had dinner a couple of times at their restaurant, the food was excellent as well as the portions. We had a very nice visit.
We had not only a lock with a key but a security bolt and a latch.

We went in December for a honeymoon and it was much warmer than expected. The staff was the nicest hotel staff I have ever encountered and the view from our room was amazing, it overlooked the beach! Newport is one of Oregon must see towns, it is beautiful and relaxing, you will not find a better place to kick back.
It was a very calm atmosphere, with no disruptions even with a conference going on downstairs.

The Hallmark Resort in Newport is a fun, friendly place welcome to pets and humans alike. So many places in Newport allow pets, though this one has designated doggie "Relief" areas, and supply you with a doggy pack for each of your pooches.
There is a park and a few observation points a short walk from the hotel, which every room faces the ocean. Every room has a fantastic view, but I would only suggest a bottom floor room if you have pets (easy potty breaks), because of the many people that travel by and not as great view.
The rooms are very comfortable. We have stayed in the Statesroom with two queens a few times, a room on the very top floor (which was cramped, but nice), and soon to stay in the 3 Queen Loft. My family and I have also stayed with relatives in the hotel's House, which was a very fun experience. It was clean, and was wonderfully decorated, not like most rental homes near it. I would definitely suggest renting it if you have a few days with large family.
Georgie's Grill is awesome, great food, just a bit expensive for every meal there. We suggest going to the local Fred Meyer (head north) to stock up on food if you are staying for a few days if you have a kitchenette.
Make sure to go down to Newport's Historic beachside shops! Ripley's, Underseas exhibit, and a Wax museum is there, too.
We have been coming to this hotel every Febreuary for at least five years now. We will continue coming back for their great service and fun Newport experience.
I am very likely
to return to the Hallmark Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

I stayed at the Hallmark for four nights with my husband and two kids. It was wonderful! It was clean, quiet, and relaxing. We had a deluxe room with living area, mini kitchen and two TVs. The pool area is really nice, with a hot tub and an exercise room, too. This is our third time staying here and we will going back for sure!

Excellent
Rooms were big and the inn was pet-friendly and right on the beach. The staff was so nice and really helpful with dinner, etc. We had a little problem with room, but they took care of it right away and made it right. With pet-friendly rooms,...

I love staying at this oceanfront hotel. It is located on a high bluff above the ocean so the views are extensive and impressive. All of the rooms face the ocean. There are some ground floor rooms that look out more to the grounds so I would recommend a higher level floor.
I especially like the pool at this hotel. It is large with lots of windows. There is a hot tub and sauna in the pool area as well as clean showers. There is also a good exercise room.
The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. The lobby is interesting with architecture that makes it feel like a ship.
There is a good restaurant adjacent to the motel that also has an ocean view. They also provide room service. The best deals can be found by signing up for their email newsletter from their website.
