25 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Located in Playacar, just outside the main avenue of Playa Del Carmen, Hacienda Vista Real offers a 5 star quality stay for a fraction of the all-inclusive resorts prices (still not cheap, but it won't make your head spin either). The hotel (which also offers an all-inclusive package) caters to all types. During our stay we saw young couples as well as families from all over the world.
The hotel has its own private beach, not adjacent to the hotel property, but it is worth the shuttle ride that that hotel offers to get there. On an almost deserted stretch of sand at least two miles long Hacienda Vista Real shares the beach with a couple other properties and private residences. There is a full bar and grill, and the waiters cater to ever request promptly delivering libations to wherever you position yourself on the beach.
The hotel also has the largest spa in the area (possibly Mexico?) built adjacent to the property in the style of a Mayan pyramid. They offer all the spa services you could ever want, from multiple styles of massage, numerous mud treatments, and even water therapies. My girlfriend did the 50 minute deep tissue massage which cost $120. She said she had a little bit of trouble conversing with the massage therapist who didn't speak English, and she doesn't speak Spanish.
All-in-all I would highly recommend this hotel for people of all ages if you have the means. It offers something for everyone. The service is as expected in a quality hotel, and it is only about 15 min walking to the downtown area of Playa del Carmen. Also for golf enthusiasts, it is located on the 10th hole of a PGA rated golf course.
