Newly renovated rooms in the tower have been very poorly finished. Beware of the shower which only allows a 2 minute shower before flooding the bathroom. My room had light switches which did not match the lights, loose switches and most concerning, an exposed electrical fitting in the shower. Why, oh why, do hotel bathrooms always have appalling lighting, where you cannot see your face in the mirror.
The bed was uncomfortable and all in all, a very poor "upgrade" of what was a very good hotel despearley in need of sprucing up.
No ironing board, no drawers in the wardrobe - these are basic things in a 5 star hotel.
It is clear that the renovations were finished in an enormous hurry with little attention to detail.
