male with an economy budget, traveling for leisure
Advertised as being downtown Denver, it actually is about 4 miles away, in a run-down part of the city where the airport used to be. The neighborhood is not pleasant at all.....it could be scary to some. The updated room was tastefully decorated, but with strange anomolies like cigarette burns on the old plastic toilet seat, and a rickety ironing board with stained cover. Pillow cases had long brown hair strands and make-up on them...people were standing in the hallway late and drinking beer, leaving the empty cases piled by the elevators, so they smelled like stale beer the time I was there. Good price, marginal location and cleanliness. Relatively friendly staff....but you'd do better elsewhere...check the Ramada Inn or Econolodge on Colfax St. for inexpensive close-to-downtown stays.
