Welcome to Greentree Inn, ** RECENTLY RENOVATED ** situated only minutes from the beach, historic downtown Wilmington on the Cape Fear River, and some of the best golf courses in the region. We stayed here in Sept 09, drawn by the low price and 3-star rating on Kayak. Turned out to be too good to be true. I can deal with rugged travel, but our room was filthy, had a hole the size of my fist in a baseboard, insects, and a ten-inch wide gnarled mass of spider webs growing at the base of the AC unit on the floor. One of our towels was either dirty or had what looked like permanent bloodstains. I had to go to the front desk to get a different towel and the night manager only had hand towels. This place is a mess. We went with well-known 2-star brands thereafter (Comfort Inn, La Quinta, etc.).

Just finished a stay at Greentree and was pleasantly surprised. After reading some of the ratings I was apprehensive about the booking, but the room was clean, people very nice and helpful, and the beds were very comfortable (actually the most comfortable i have been in regardless of the price lately). It was obvious that the owners had made major efforts to clean up the place and upgrade. I will stay there again when I go to Wilmington!!

This hotel was the only one available when I came down for a convention. It was definitely not my first choice but the room was clean. I would not choose them as my first choice.
