40 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I was in a group that reserved 3 rooms.
When I called to confirm the reservation for my room, my confirmation number "was from the old computer system and didn't carry over to the new system". I had to re-book the room, and when I got there, my rate was $125/night as opposed to the original rate I was quoted of $105. Also, upon arrival, I was told the room was ready (we were 1 hour early), but when we got to the room, it was not ready for us.
The second room in my party stank of mustiness. The staff came to spray the room, but the smell lingered throughout the stay.
When the third group in my party arrived, they were told that although there was a reservation for two double beds, it did not guarantee them that exact room. They were given a "free "upgrade to a king suite with a fireplace, however, there were four adults, and one had to use a fold up cot and the other the fold out couch.
This is our fifth year staying at this hotel, and we have not had so many problems. I doubt we will go there again.

The hotel and our suite did not feel like a hotel. There was a large fireplace with living room-like relaxation space as part of the lobby. There was a dining area for breakfast and a hot breakfast was served each morning. Our suite felt like our own home for six nights. It had a living room, kitchenette, two bedrooms, and each bedroom with a bathroom. We loved our experience and will always look for a Hawthorn Suites facility whenever and wherever we travel.
It was beautifully designed, with a rustic design as one might expect for Vermont. The fireplace and great room on the first floor was like a mountain lodge. A hot breakfast was provided each morning.
I am very likely
to return to the Hawthorn Suites -South Burlington.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
