The hotel is nice, and quaintly historic. It is priced a bit high, even in off season, and when we arrived, the clerk did not wish to honor our arrangements, made just days before. It took some insistence and good notes on the making of the...

This place left a horrible taste in my mouth. Actually had a visit in our room from a mouse that the staff would not take care of. The food was awful as well. With all the other options in Stowe, there's no reason to stay at this inn!

I've stayed here a couple of times with my fiancee. We loved it so much we are having our wedding there. We didn't find fault with any part of the hotel or services that we used. The staff are very helpful.

This sprawling Inn is right in the center of Stowe Village, about 7 miles from Stowe Mountain Resort. There's a free shuttle to take you up to the mountain or to any of the multitude of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. along the "Mountain Road". We stayed in a luxury room, a little pricer than the deluxe or standard rooms, but boy was it worth it! Spacious rooms, big canopy bed, a gas fireplace and a jacuzzi, where you can sit and see the fireplace - romantic! Our room was in a building separate from the main, historic part of the Inn, set back a bit from the main drag. Breakfast was awesome, dinners at the Whip were the best we found in Stowe. The staff was so nice, ever willing to help out in any way they could, from delivering wine to our room to helping us find cool things to do when the snow wasn't enough to keep our attention.
I'd stay here again in a heartbeat - what a great, relaxing time we had! The skiing at Stowe is just great and gave us both the terrain we needed; easier for me and challenging for him.
