We had received a gift card for the Great Wolf Lodge for $500. Made reservations for Thursday, Friday & Left on Saturday. The bill came out to about $558.00. We arrived after 5 and one person was in front of us. We were in room 2005 and the bathroom was small (standard size) with the sink outside the bathroom. On the next counter were a decent size refrigerator & microwave & coffee maker. The refrigerator was a much larger size then at Disney resort hotels. Then you had 2 queen size beds, a dresser with 4 draws, TV set with video equipment on top. They also had behind a divider a couch, light and opposite side a table and two chairs. A/c was noisy but I liked that it turned off and on. Each room has a balcony except for first floor rooms. The room was a nice size, and the corridor was long (felt like walking a football field), just to get to the main desk or pool area. The main area has Starbucks, but I don't drink coffee so, I couldn't rate it. They had a gift shop and an area to eat. We didn't do any eating at the buffet, since I heard mixed reviews. We took a 5 minute drive to Friendly's for our meals, which worked out well. The food was good and the staff was very nice. We went to the water park and the water was nice and warm on certain areas. The water was clean and nothing was floating in or around it. The water park is done in certain sections, when you come in it's the smaller children area with 4 side slides and a small area for young children to swim and another area for children to play basketball. Stings to pull to get people wet. One life guard in this area and another guard on top of longer slides. Across from this area were crafted pipes that allowed anyone to turn on the water or off. Splash people and get everyone wet. On top was a large bucket that had a siren when it was about to be tipped and when it did and you were under it, you were sure to get wet. On top of the stairs they had 2 slides a life guard on the top and one on the bottom. The floor had a non slipper bottom, which was safe when children ran. Behind this area they had a pool that had basketball for older children and floatation items, a large snake, beaver & acorn. All items were attached by a string. This area was nice because you could swim some. As you move further from the water area on your right you have a wave pool that alarms when it starts and people take floats on let the waves take you. They had a number of life guards on the side of the pool. Then you come into the slides, but your child has to be a certain feet tall to get on them. You walk up steps to reach them and if you’re not fit (like me, you will tire out). The life guards don't help much just watch the sides to see when the next person can go, which surprised me a lot. My 4 1/2 daughter went on one ride with her father and he felt she was too short for it, because she kept slipping. But the slides look exciting to go down. Underneath the slides they have a lazy river that just goes around. Near the lazy river is an obstacle when children (older 7 and up) hold on to rope over head and cross moving things on the water. Outside it's another pool. When we were out on Friday the water was nice and hot (like bath water) the air was breezy cold. They also had a slide for young children and pipes to turn on the water. We went to the water park on Thursday at around 6:30 and left at 8:40. They closed at 9pm. Friday, we arrived at 10:30am and left at 1:20pm. It's true what people say about saved seats. People arrive just to place towels on and leave. We found 2 seats that had water dripping from the water slide tubes. They also have an arcade for all whom want to play. I found the door way to heavy to open and my daughter got hurt by trying. They have a place where they will watch your child for 2 hours if, you want to use the spa. It's Eductainment. It costs $30 for two hours. My daughter did it and even though she was the only one inside they all paid attention to her and she made a whole bunch of things. They also have a spa for children called Scoops. We didn't go inside. You have to wear these bands around your wrists. The bands have a micro chip to open your door, and if you want to get something like coins from the arcade or purchase items you use your band. It was pretty cool concept. My daughter didn't like her band and removed it all the time. The front desk has many extra for children. On the TV set they have a book with valuable information; I had done internet searches for different places to eat. The book had all this information some had menus with prices and others did not. When we were leaving see saw the life guards running up the hill which was long, I guess they do it every morning. I was also impressed with that. We did not venture to see what the prices were for the food, since we didn't bring much money. We only spent an additional $45, for the arcade and the $30 for the cub club. The cub club also did scavenger hunt for the older children. They are located on the first floor before the fitness room; they have a list of things to do for the children and the time.
One thing I didn't care for is that the last night's check was not placed under the doors, placed near the doors. I didn't care for that as much. We had ordered from Pizza Hut on Thursday, and the cleaning personnel would not take the empty box. If, you’re not into the pool and like shopping not 5 minutes away they have an outlet. Couple of Candles shops near by.
