33 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

My family has been to other GWL on the east coast and we always had a blast. But the one in Grand Mound WA is a far cry from the level of hospitality that we experienced in previous years. First off, I think it is great for a company to come in, build a resort, and give people in that town jobs. However, they were never trained in how to run a resort. Being gracious is something these people are not. The food was overpriced and not very good. The staff that ran food areas in the pool area, and around the hotel felt they deserved a tip every time you ordered something. An example: I ordered a pizza from the Pizza Hut and did not tip the lady for taking my order. Tipping is not designed just be given for doing your job. I watched three other people who ordered behind me get their food first and when I finally got my pizza, it was not cut. When I asked her to cut it, I got the pizza back upside down. I have no problem tipping wait staff and alike, especially those who do not make at least minimum wage, but this was crazy. While at the spa, the massage therapist was not trained well enough to know that you never maneuver someone's neck muscles in a face up position hurt my neck. I spent the rest of the day on my back to get the knot out that she put in. And when I went to pay, she had the nerve to ask for a 20% tip on top of an over inflated bill. So not worth going to the spa there. The interactive wand games are fun, but the pricing is overinflated as well. You have to pay for the wand, the battery, and the game all separately. Next year, we will definitely go somewhere else.
