Excellent
49 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

First of all, it's very, very easy to book your reservation off the Grayhaven's website. You can find it at www.grayhavenmotel.com. Otherwise, just give them a call. My wife Sarah and I are relocating to Ithaca, and we have stayed at the Grayhaven at least four times over the past year. To tell you the truth, the first time we happened upon the Grayhaven was by chance. As we always do when we travel anywhere, we try our best to stay at motels that are worth their rate, … which as you may agree is a rather rare find. At the time of our very first visit, we had booked a room at an franchise ‘economy’ motel, then after seeing our room we decided it was simply not right for a multi night stay. It was a bit dark, damp, and musty with very ‘well used’ beds. So we hopped in the car and began our search for alternatives. Not far away we happened upon the Grayhaven's sign which was set tastefully along the road frontage. It was about 6:00 PM and they were already 3/4 full. The grounds were impeccable, well trimmed lawn, contoured garden accents, cleanly painted trim in gray, white, and black, … and everywhere it was so noticeably clean. Not even a gum wrapper on the lawn. We liked the well designed parking access where you can pull up to your room to load and unload your belongings. Nobody likes the 'corporate motels' where you park a football field’s length away and lug your belongings up stairs or down ugly hallways past fifty doors. This was so much the opposite. We thought OK, this is great, but it's got to cost twice as much as the franchise motel we just left. So when Sarah came out from the office with the keys to our room in her hand sporting a grin from ear to ear I sighed and smiled as well. The room was actually $10 less expensive than the economy motel, 50% larger, and 100 times nicer in all regards. Clean, newer carpets, king sized beds, newer air conditioners and heating units, a small fridge in every room for store bought snacks and drinks, and a nicely trimmed out bathroom with abundant fresh towels of all sizes, liquid hand soap, … the complete set-up. Oh yes, I should mention that I really appreciate the large enough tub and shower so that a 6'4" person like myself can comfortably bathe. The Grayhaven is a favorite for folks who are visiting their kids that are attending Cornell and Ithaca College. The location is key, close to everything, including the essentials like upscale food stores such as Wegman’s, drugstores, or gas for the car, and very easy access to all the main arteries so that you can make your way to any part of Ithaca or the surrounding area quickly. This is really significant because should you wish to, you can bypass the traffic of College Town, The Commons, and other more congested areas in an attempt to arrive at an appointment on time. It’s a beautiful location as well, Buttermilk Falls is only two minutes away, and in fact there is a lovely waterway just in back of the Grayhaven where we like to take our coffee and watch a gazillion birds do their bird thing. At certain times of year there is a great continental breakfast served at the Grayhaven, really well chosen goodies such as premium quality muffins, breads, jams, butter, fresh fruit, coffee, OJ, and really cold fresh milk, and cereal choices that are healthy and more likely to be found at home. No wonder that the place is frequented by a high percentage of repeat visitors. For a host of reasons, it’s the best place to stay when looking for an excellent, friendly, and fair priced motel that is obviously run right.
