Grand Vista Hotel Simi Valley Hotel - Page 1

I live in Phoenix and come out every other weekend to spend time with my 10 year old daughter. I like this hotel....I have stayed probably over 1000 nights in hotels in my lifetime. I have been in good ones and the terrible. This hotel, for the price, is worth staying at. Where else can you find a hotel with a pool, room service and a gym for under $70.

My family needed to stay at a hotel while water damage repairs were being made on our home. We checked in late on friday only to find out by monday they had billed my debit card $1200.00 dollars in charges even though we had only been there since friday. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, they were rude, and condensending. We contacted the general manager who did not return our phone call, but did return my email. On tuesday while me, my 16 month old and 6 week old were napping in our room, I awoke dizzy and feeling sick to my stomach, very strong solvent smelling fumes had filled the room.When I called the front desk they offered to move our room and said work was being done on the 2nd floor, when I told them I was sick and worried about my children, they ignored my comment and said they offered to move our room.They were so rude and unconcerned for the safety of me or my children. We had to call 911 ourselves, and the whole time the paramedics were there, not one person from the front desk or management came to see if me or my kids were ok. We all ended up in the emergency room that night. My husband emailed the general manager a few times now, but still no response. It turned out they were working on a room right under ours and the fumes were being vented into our room. While they did refund what they over charged us, they seem to have no comment about endangering my family, our $200.00 dollars in bank charges they caused by over billing us or our emergency bill.

As a guest at the hotel I had a major injury due to the negligence on the part of hotel staff. At the time while awaiting transport to the hospital I asked to see the manager but he refused to come out.

We really had a good stay at this hotel. Our first room faced a culvert, and when I requested a room with a nicer view, they were very polite and professional.

The new room overlooked a beautiful valley, and it was clean and very comfortable. I went running in the mornings and felt very safe here for our two day stay. I recommend this hotel.

The only downside was that since I booked online, we were not eligible for the breakfast coupon. Not to worry, we saved a bundle booking online.

We stayed two nights while our house was tented to kill termites. It was less than two miles from our daughter's home where we spent all of our time. Given the need, we would go there again.
