They permanently closed the water slides and lazy river, which is why we booked the hotel in the first place. The hotel did nothing to inform us of this change, which devistated the kids in our two-family party. After we checked in and discovered this, I went back and inquired about a refund or a discount. They gave us $30 per night discount, but that did not undo the dissapointment in the kids. WHAT A JOKE!!

my family enjoyed the great service and the indoor pool it was very awesome with the pool and the hot tube . we loved the surronding's at the pool and the hotel it was very helpful and caring. the location was great there was target right next door and resurant's close by. i recomned that other travelers go there if the have kids take them to the pool anything else you want well my family would like to thank you for the awesome service and we will be seeing you again.

We stayed at Grand Prairie Hotel 8-10 to 8-12-07. There were 100-125 of our family there for a family reunion. The swimming features we very nice for the children. The room was not as great as expected. It was NOT WORTH $93.00 a night! Our food was good. Our service was fair. On early morning 1:10 A.M Sunday 8-12-07 someone pulled the fire alarm as a prank. The management was terrible as no one knew if it was a REAL fire or just the alarm. People we out in hallways yelling as what to do. The doors became locked NO one would answer the phone at front desk. My husband walked down to the lobby(we were on top floor) to see what was happening. There he found screaming and yelling from both management and patrons. What a mess as Hutchchison fire dept was also on site. The alarms are blasting this entire time. The alarms were finally turned off , but through the next hour would sound intermittently. Several people packed up and fled around 2:00 A.M. with anger. When daylight finally came. The manager gave some people refunds and other not. He stated" it's not his fault the alarms were set off". I do agree it wasn't his fault, but their knowledge of the alarms sounding SEVERAL more times due lack of knowledge of how to reset them was a concern to me. If you decided to go to your room from pool area the doors lock behind you. Patrons had rugs, rags, cups,trash barrels, etc blocking doorways from inside and even outside. You must walk around entire building to reenter. That was not very convenient. It was very hot and AC didn't work. We did get a fan that helped. It's an old building with some face lifts and upgrades. There is a new Holiday Inn next door (share same parking lot) that is nice for the price. I would stay at HI and purchase water park passes from Grand Prairie. If we decided to grace their doors in the future. My family and I didn't feel safe with this old hotel and lack of staff knowledge. I asked myself several times. What if this had been a REAL fire and we were upstairs? Could we have evacuated safely at this time of night? I feel we would have been truly on our own. Many other family members stated" I will never stay here again" This place has a lot to be desired for the price. The banquet room, staff, and catered meal was great.

The Grand Prairie hotel was extremely comfortable. It was centrally located to many area attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was absolutely outstanding and amazing.
